what did you get into what were you into oh i'm having too much fun oh all right guys that's baby and right next to her is lucy and it looks like these guys have been having a little bit too much fun guys my name is stan genetic they call me the dirt monkey and we're gonna have a little bit of a different adventure today uh right now we're up at my cabin we call it shangri lodge just kind of started as a joke one day and seemed to have stuck and right here i'm actually trying to build this out to be a kind of a doomsday shelter uh if there's no power no electricity nothing i got a place that i can go but that's not the reason we're here today i'm just kind of walking you round i had some problems with the county and in the past i made a video called 90 days in jail over a pile of dirt and i'd gotten a letter from my county because i had a pile of sand sitting right down there so my grandkids could play in it and i was told if i did not get that moved in 98 days i would either face a fine or jail time and i got it moved and i just kind of wanted to get you guys up to date on it but i'm obviously under a microscope here and so i'm also out of building space i've got these little tiny kind of useless sheds on here but if i ever take them down i can no longer put them back because everything that's on this property right now has been grandfathered in but they're not allowing me to expand at all i got my trailer here which is you know that's a trailer and i really don't have another trailer that i can afford to have sitting around and i thought ah let's do something different let's install a temporary building and just see how it does so we are going to be building putting in a temporary building right through here and i just want to see what is the quality how well do these things last get put together just kind of answer some of those questions and i thought well i'll take you guys along for the ride at the same time and we'll discover it at the same time now let's take a look at what we've got inside of the box all right everything is clearly labeled i like that up here in the mini loader that kept falling out on this end okay so but look we've got everything we need to know where part e is they got it labeled pretty good okay all your little thingamajiggers what the heck are those i would assume i don't know your latching things okay they must have just fallen out of the box yeah the whole end of it's just shredded okay well i had to try playing forklift with this thing in order to get it out of it where i had it yeah you had it kind of boogered back in there pretty tight the box has been sitting out in the weather now for a good month or so maybe a little bit more so zach the idea is we're just going to be setting it straight up off from this now the building we're putting up is actually going to be wider than this building oddly enough it's 12 and then it's 20 foot long we're not going to be digging this ground in we're just going to be using it as yard space and leaving the windows rolled up when we're not secure and everything so we're not going to be taking any of the grade down or leveling that out so we'll see how this thing goes up it'll be an interesting experiment should go no different than like a carport or anything like that yep that's what i'm thinking that's what i'm thinking we got a box of smaller parts and pieces right here too huh yeah these are your connect these are the connectors oh base stance nice well they give you grounds they give you ground anchors and a set of gloves another okay thingy box of connectors okay square thingy out of all round okay well that makes it easy to if when i say grab the square thingies and we know which ones are they are right yeah so that would be well that's got a number sign at the letter q yeah that's weird okay it does have a number sign oh we struck gold we got it [Applause] all right here we go and this is the 10 by 20 car canopy this is the instructions for this one i thought this was a 12 by 20. that's what i get for thinking [Music] so they have which tube secured inside of which tube zack uh a inside the c and c ones okay so these are these are the a's right here so these are the other ones we need so if you guys seem like i'm missing a whole bunch of parts well actually they're conserving space and that actually is not a bad way to protect them they've got them bubble wrapped they're not bubble wrap but plastic wrap so they're not yeah so we're killing all these sea turtles with this plastic but our pipes won't get scratched we're good since i've maxed out the amount of buildings and space that i'm allowed to actually utilize on my land i needed an option which still gave me cover from the weather but wouldn't put me on the radar of the county and i thought a temporary building is a perfect solution other options were a trailer or building a building on skids in my neck of the woods if a building is on skids it's movable and therefore it's not a permanent structure but this was the cheapest option around so we put the one side on then we put the roof on then we put the other side walls on okay yeah i would assume yeah you put the roof on then you put the other side okay so we've got the this is the assembled roof frame but we're gonna get the sidewalls up let's do that right now all right you want to uh you flip it up i'll hold it up then you can put them pipes up okay [Applause] a little higher than what you can reach all right one of the things that i want to get out of the way right away is this company gardasol is not paying me to put this video together i wanted to just find out what the quality was like on this and if it was worth sharing then put it out [Music] so i ordered this building from garden saul website and i just kind of want to show these guys what we're working with it looks like it's got a pretty nice paint job i mean i'm not i'm not on displeased with what are you seeing though zach is you're putting it together what are you noting nothing really it's it snaps together just fine one of them i had to kind of bend back into place could have got damaged during shipping but that's about it that's normal stuff i mean it's got good quality the weld it's not boogery decent paint job parts fit together well i mean overall i i would say that uh i basically assembled it to here with just me [Music] so it's not like it's complicated no it's not really it's a two-person job once you get to the roof part and whatnot but otherwise you don't really need two people assembling the whole thing yeah it's um i'm just looking at details i'm trying to find you know how well is this put together it's like pretty good tarpon it's supposed to be a heavier duty tarp system too they give you the gauges of the tarps and then they show you what the competition uses and what this is and it's supposed to be a step up i don't know whether that's true or not but we'll find out i mean everything so far has been going together good all right let's get back to something though [Music] all right let's show them the latch on the bottom so the roof actually comes down protects the pole the side poles here show them how it latches on the bottom and then you get several different and depending i think on how tight you want it it it's just got a little latch right built into the tarp how long that lasts i'll assume you got these around here you'll eventually estate you'll have to secure those people like might zip tie it or whatever however they see fit so if you store your building outside like we did just don't store the destructions outside we can't we got one page we got we open it and we can't get any of the other pages to come apart without destroying them they're basically just [Music] stuck together [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you could just put the ladder so it's in the non-tippy way but can you do it however you want to do it zack i don't care whatever's comfortable most comfortable for you man this building has one door on the end that's what zach and i are working on right now it also has a door on the side now the highest point to the peak of that roof is 9.38 feet the sidewalls are 6.56 feet and the sidewalls also have four mesh windows with roll-up covers so you can flip them windows down and get a lot of ventilation and a lot of natural light inside of the build i wonder how this is going to hold up in a wind storm that's why i was saying the timbers on the side yeah it gives you that much more weight to anchor it too yeah [Music] yep yep then then it gives you however thick you want to do it then he gives you that much more inches of height wise for anything this canopy cover that we're working on is made out of 180 gauge tarp material and it's supposed to be waterproof rain snow etc etc i don't think it's gonna hold up very well under the minnesota snow load but we're gonna find out [Applause] looks like we got velcro yeah it built the velcro to the next one next to it so well i would assume we'll just put velcro for nothing right so it's got a velcro to the side walls yeah that way it's a little more airtight watertight and i would assume the velcro's on the inside of these yeah so then that's basically there's your watertight seat or your water seal so what is this [Applause] hmm i don't think the anchors they supply though are going to be enough to hold this building down for sure but not not in some of the windstorms that come through here off the wall oh dude we get some big ones you'll you'll you'll see it 10 miles that way crumpled into like every into the trees yeah oh geez yeah the trees are all knocked down in a row in uh in pine city yeah yeah right there and past hinckley there you you go right to that water tower just that whole line yeah but if you go a little bit off from the main road into toward town it's 10 times worse so the belt so the the building velcros from here to here so the corner velcros on the inside outside i should say and then this will wrap around the building support but this has to this part has to get velcroed to this part and then these parts get wrapped around the posts here and secured to each other all right we're getting the sidewalls on and while we're working here i just looked up and for the first time noticed this tree and then you'll be growing out of a branch no the whole center is dead and then all of a sudden it's got a branch and then it just grows straight up it's got another branch right there grows straight up it's got a branch over here grows straight up these don't grow down it's not these aren't touching the ground they're growing off from branches off from a dead tree i don't understand this how is that branch supporting all that weight when that is pure rotten and then you got this got a vibrant core a what got a vibrant core yeah well moss have something going on that i can't tell cause when i look around here branch coming off from the dead growing straight up i mean all of this this whole pine tree is all of this is growing off from one dead tree one two three four five six it's got seven different tops growing off from this dead middle i don't understand this this is amazing actually i don't think i've ever seen a tree like that i wouldn't mind pruning up the center there a little bit no well yeah get that dead like those dead branches out of there dead right there out of there but you got to be super careful what you cut cause that whole thing is off from a dead heart wow let's see what we can fit in this building [Music] so see what else we can get stored away in here i think we can get that plow put in there as well you want to throw that on a pallet or yes and no we got pallets so let's let's let's see all right let's move the gravely the trailer we'll pop this on an extra pallet we'll get some of this stuff just kind of cleaned up and put away [Music] so [Music] this is black walnut that i'm curing so being able to store it inside is ideal [Music] that wood's already getting wrecked what do you think of it frankie i like it because um i got i put up one like just at my place and you know it lasted maybe a year but he had a lot smaller pipe this is a little bit more heavy duty very structural-wise i guess the only thing i don't like about them they go so far apart with the pipe with the sidewalls you mean yeah be there even if they had like could i add an extra extra bracing in mine and it helps it does it you know what what did you do to add the extra bracing i went from corner to what with the floor that way do you use pipe no anything you can use pipe or even one by two by four you can cut right in there and anchor this anchor it down you know like them dog anchors or whatever dog leg anchors on you know do they got anything for you today yeah they got tent spikes yeah have your duty rope on there yeah and some regular and i got some at home i can bring you yeah let's let's fortify it we'll we'll anchor it down good yep because that's what's gonna that's what's gonna keep it together right there that one of mine didn't have this steep of pitch and uh i like the pits i mean because it's more of a piss mine was about half that you know and like you say bites i still made it two winners so if you guys just maintain i'm gonna keep the snow off them it's the big but that was my problem because i went someplace this is the building that keeps on giving we keep having plenty of room hey i think we should back it in yeah because that way we can put the mini loader right over the top of that oh shoot we could yeah we could put the mini loader straight right in i bet we could even get the mammoth in here no way there is a slim possibility that we could get the mammoth in here and the mini voters now we just got to make sure that that starts to be able to get this out but hey you know what it's not i was gonna say if it don't start put the chain to it and we'll drag it with a skid all right well you got the lights on right now so let's make sure the key is completely off both lights are off i don't know why the lights are on oh keys off there we go do you want the key or yes yes i have a grandson that is infatuated with equipment so if you see this he will definitely be going through but so far we have got pretty much everything i had hoped to get in here plus plus some i never would have guessed see now we got space for the for the multi-force but i'd rather have the mini loader in there yeah with no door so yeah with no door and we still have access so that we can grab all of this wood out of here but we'll leave these doors open and let this let's pop this window open and boy that's a all right you guys well that's gonna call this one for the day uh let me know what you think of this um i wish i would have done this thought of this a lot sooner i actually do like this building you might be ordering a few more i don't know if i'll be ordering a few more or not but i'm gonna kind of get the feel for this one before i order another one i did get this from a company called garden soul i don't even know if i'm pronouncing that right uh exceptional they're i think they're a newer company um their website is up i'll put a link to it down below if you guys want uh to order this exact same building uh this is the i thought it was the 12 by 20 carport but according to the destructions it said 10 by 20. did you ever end up using your california gloves no okay all right well that's it
