What happens here

This project guides you through building a versatile welding "third hand" tool from common metal stock, nuts, and bolts. It involves cutting, heating, bending, and TIG welding components to create an adjustable device capable of securely holding small, delicate parts during welding or other intricate tasks. The design emphasizes simplicity and customizability for various workshop needs.

If you weld by yourself, this is one of the most useful tools you can build. Let's get after it. I'm making this third hand from some round bar and an assortment of nuts and bolts. So, I'm going to take a round bar here and I'm just going to mark it 16 in. Now, I'm going to heat this bar up so I can bend it. Bend it to a right about a 90. All right, let's see how good these welds are going to be. Not bad. This auto-darkening helmet from Arc Captain with its 180° view is absolutely insane. It's like my go-to helmet for TIG welding, grind mode, adjustability, light on the front. It's perfect. We can tack these two up, so let's get them tacked up. All right, I'm just going to tack this up and then adjust as necessary. Now that I got it tacked up, I'm going to go ahead and just run a bead. All right, don't hate. I'm not the best at TIG welding. Now, I'm just going to tack these nuts together and that's what's going to be on the end of our third hand. Now, I'm going to cut the head of this bolt off and then grind this down to a point. I'm going to go ahead and weld this onto the bottom of there like that. All right, so I flipped it over and I got my weight on here. Now, I'm going to go ahead and tack this weight on. And there you have it, a third hand. Holds delicate things when you need them, when you're TIG welding or whatever the case is. This is a super simple build. That's what's cool about these is you can make them out of just about anything that you have laying around. If you're in the market for a wide lens like this one, go check out the Arc Captain. Build one of these for yourself and let me know how it goes. Anyways, I got stuff to do. I'll catch you guys later. Peace.
