Why does this nail have two heads? Why does this nail have spirals? And why does this nail have a plastic cap? Let's get after it. This is a common nail, and it's just your general construction nail. This is used for framing and different types of woodworking, and this thick shank gives it excellent holding power. This is a spiral shank nail, and as it's driven into the wood, it actually twists itself slowly as it goes in, giving it maximum holding power. This is a roofing nail. See how much larger the head is than your common nail? This nail head is designed to keep your shingles from coming up over the top of it. These plastic cap nails have a ring shank and a plastic cap, spreading the holding force over a much larger area. These nails are great for house wrap and roofing underlayment. Have you ever seen a head with two nails? This nail is used in temporary construction and often used in concrete forming. When you drive it all the way in, that second head catches, but it still leaves you a little bit, so you're able to pull it out. These are aluminum trim nails. They are corrosion resistant, and the colored heads help them blend into your trim. These are primarily used for trim and fascia. These are just six of the hundreds of different nails they have out there, and each one of these six has a different purpose. But no matter which one you're driving, a quality hammer makes all the difference. I've been using this Boss hammer quite a bit lately, and it's been absolutely amazing. But anyways, it's Friday. I'm going to crack a cold one. I'll catch you guys later. Peace.
