We start Snowplowing off with a BANG! #snowplowing

What happens here

The video opens with an explanation of a jackknife accident that occurred earlier, involving a white Ford F-250 pickup truck towing a Diamond C trailer with a CAT 259D3 skid steer loader. The driver, Alex, explains that the truck's Goodyear Duratrac tires, which are primarily mud tires, performed poorly on icy conditions, causing the trailer to jackknife into the back of the truck, resulting in cosmetic damage. The conversation highlights the immediate need to replace these tires with more suitable ones for winter driving.

Goal: Understand the cause and implications of a vehicle accident due to icy conditions and inappropriate tires.

Alex had a boo boo on the way into work and this is what the truck looks like. He don't want to talk. Alex don't want to talk. You a little spitting mad. Is that what you're saying, Alex? So, we're starting the the first year pretty good, huh? We haven't start plowing yet. Yeah. Last year we lost the engine the first day of the snowfall. This year we jack knifed. Just coming up here. And you got good tires on, too. No, these tires. What? Yeah, they're not good in the ice. I mean, what are these? Why do we have these? Cuz we got a really good deal on them. But these are like a Those are more of a mud tire. Yeah. You got to get rid of them. Yeah. On ice. Not very good. But I was pulling up to a stop sign and I mean, I was going extremely slow. I mean, seriously, this was like a 45se second crash, you know? It wasn't like it just happened quick. I mean, I was sliding on the ice and then I'm watching in the mirror of the trailer coming and coming and coming and then it crinkled in and I mean crinkled the truck, crinkled the trailer. Whole combination was sliding and at that point there was nothing I could do. I let go of the brakes and just see if I could get it to stop sliding into it, but it wouldn't do that. So then I tried to reapply the brake because I was sliding into traffic and of course there was cars coming. So, I I had to, you know, I was trying to pinch the trailer brakes, trying to hit the brakes, but I mean, seriously, the whole thing was just sliding all together. And then right as I got up to the stop sign, it crinkled right in. And yeah, the roads are super super bad. First snow of the year. There's this layer of ice underneath here. They closed Wetworth Avenue down. Yeah, that was so bad. They closed it down down down like it's they don't they're not even allowing but it's not gonna affect your plowing but we got to get you some better tires. That's that's goes without saying no more hauling with those crappy tires. Yeah. What are these again? Good.
