Vacation getaway ideas: Amish Country...A quick tour and walk about the Chicken/Cattle farm

hey folks it's josh tony rich farmer welcome to the farm vlog today we are on a road trip we're in dover ohio where an amish country wanted to take you and show you the cool place that we're staying we're staying on an Amish Mennonite something to that effect chicken farm so first thing I want to show you there's the van we got the van all cleaned up for the ride up here I want to show you the view the backdrop I'm just going to kind of turn around and show you the panorama this is the place that we're staying in it's 87 bucks a night unbelievable I'll take you in there and I'll show you all about it I'll leave this guy's phone number down below it's a man and his wife and they do a little farm State thing so you can come stay on a farm check out the chicken farm walk around a little bit there's a beautiful lake over here to the side this is kind of gonna be a little commercial for the guy but I want to show you the cool place that we're staying so let's get a little pan around my here so here's the place that we're staying and here are the beautiful fields that we're looking out over really pretty really really pretty so kind of all around us is just this Amish country kind of vibe it is Thanksgiving right now so here in Thanksgiving I think a lot of the families are probably eating together totally totally beautiful place guys let me go out here to the front side this used to be an old dairy farm and these guys converted over to chickens so now they raise chickens have a big old chicken house down here and we'll get a little bit of a view of that here a little bit later on maybe even a separate vlog I'll just take you around today and I'll show you the place that we're staying so this is the old farmhouse that the folks live in and we're across the road from across the blacktop road from them and this is the old dairy barn right here and that's some old silos and stuff they don't do dairy cows anymore they just do chickens and this is kind of like chicken Valley down here I'll show you their chicken houses all over the place down here we'll walk down and I'll show you there are some barn cats here hanging out anytime you got an old dairy you got barn cats evidently any time we got a chicken for him you got barn and this little cat right here is a little jerk he already smacked me he's a bad judge of character so I'm walking down here just a little way so you can see the view gosh it's just so pretty Hut you know we stayed here last year and we didn't know what we were looking at we didn't know how pretty it was until we skipped a year and being here and now we just love it it's just awesome beautiful place to go and a beautiful place to share with you guys check out this old barn look how pretty that is and these are the chicken houses right here and we'll try and talk to them a little bit tomorrow about these chicken houses but once again we'll leave a number down here if you guys want to stay at this farm stay it's an awesome place in Amish country we're in Ohio Dover Ohio it's not here we got just beautiful houses and corn fields and most of these folks I think their last name is Miller it's like a valley of Millers and that's a corn crib an old-school corn crib really cool very neat to check out fact let's go over there and look at that guys I look like the biggest tourist dork alive out here normally I'm a greasy dirty old farmer but today I've put my traveling clothes on and that doesn't include pants or anything like that I just got some shorts on and my workout shoes so I look like the biggest dork alive out here in Amish country really don't fit in except for the beard so let's look at this corn crib really cool this is what they used to use to store and dry corn what I always wondered is if rats or raccoons or anything like that would get into these things but I guess it's such a massive amount of corn but it doesn't matter you could also use it as a monkey cage so it looks like the corn crib this is the top to the corn crib and the center stays open for air I don't know exactly how this thing works maybe one of you guys notice how this thing works and if you've ever had a corn crib on your farm let me know about it I don't know how this thing works but I sure would like to have one on my farm so the thing about this place is the ambience the ambiance of being here being here in Amish country at nighttime or in the early morning hours you hear the it's all these horses and buggies and then come down here on this road right here so all these horses and buggies come out on this road let me show you the road see the road surface it's all beat up right here unlike the road surface in your normal town okay this is where the horses if you look back behind me you can really see it and this is where the horses are running down the highway so the Amish buggies they have horses that pull them and they have like a little rubberized tyre on it so they don't tear up the road surface I imagine they get a whole lot of torn up road surface from the horses though so let's take you inside the farm stay right here really cool place 87 bucks at night whose budget doesn't allow for that you want to see Amish country this is the place to come let's go inside new hello there's mrs. Stoney Ridge so guys here's the inside just to cutest little place we got a Wi-Fi I gave her some bread got some nuts some apple butter that was fresh made and they always make us a good little dessert so we eat on that for a few days just really cool peaceful little atmosphere it's like a studio kind of apartment kind of thing and got a little couch lots of books lots of places to sit and read and a nice little bed it's a queen-size bed the queen-size bed is really nice isn't it mrs. Stoney Ridge how nice is it maybe we already did find out this is a Christian show guys come on now let me get I don't have my glasses on like a dork inside so it's got a second bedroom right here so you can bring your whole family and stay parents could stand here and have privacy or two couples could come and stay then got a cute little bathroom here we go this simple just good clean living simple clean living and it's ten times bigger than any hotel room you'll get in any hotel room you get here in Amish country you're not gonna hear the clippity-clop of horses and buggies going down the road in the morning just - awesome cool place guys that's the farm stay that's where we're staying here in Amish country now the next vlog tomorrow will be of what's going on in the chicken houses now there are a lot of strict rules about these chicken houses I'm gonna ask this guy do a little interview with me we'll talk to him about what he does how he does it what kind of living he makes with chickens and how many chickens he has and we'll see if he'll let us go inside and see the operation so all the stuff is computerized which is really really cool it's all computerized it's all ran by computers - feeding the watering and then there's a big alarm system that goes off and like shakes the whole Valley this whole valley back here it's like I'm where alarm so everybody knows when something's going on with somebody's chickens one of their neighbors and they all kind of look after each other I think that's a pretty good way to live that's kind of the way we want to live on Stoney Ridge farm guys thanks a lot for joining me we're up an Amish country it's beautiful it's wonderful and I wanted to share it with you and tomorrow we're gonna get down there we're gonna check out the chicken houses thanks a lot guys thanks for watching the vlog today come on back and see me tomorrow don't forget to click that like button click that thumbs up and click that bell down there so it notifies you when I post that video tomorrow and we can go in and check out the chicken houses this is going to be really really cool something I just discovered over here some baby cows so I'm gonna say bye but we'll zoom in on the baby cows so you can see what they look like it looks like I don't even know how many cows it must be another dairy right here so we'll zoom in on those and I'm gonna get out of here thanks a lot guys [Music] here in sweet that's way supposed to be stone Tyrion [Music] folks here something that you don't see a whole lot that's what my grandpa used to teach me do unto others we're some of the people that leave nasty comments on my channel would remember that do unto others that's something that a lot of people don't think about anymore everybody thinks somebody owes them some it's just kind of our culture right now we'd all do that things would be a whole lot better
