(20,000 characters)all right I've never seen this before okay is this new by Makita it's not it's the best kept secret you know like everything the best the best kept fail all right let me see it so so this is a multi- Surface scanner the DWD 181 um this is a multi- Surface scanner to scan concrete um since uh block wall or drywall even Hardy Board um it detects yeah it detects up to 7 in deep it uh do dry concrete wet concrete um and it also do single detection and multi- detection of several items um steel copper plastic it does multi- detection and single detection I'll go over that with you real quick so single detection you're going to see three lines which represent the center and the two sides you'll do dry concrete wet concrete partition Bo radar view so we'll go ahead and we'll um take it for a spin on dry concrete cuz it's been cured for more than a year and we're doing single detection and now we're trying to pick up this exactly this piece of rebound which is 7 in down yeah so you're going to see it marked it there 7 in down so right now the three lines are representing the left side here so you have a laser and an LED light if you're working in dark conditions if I want to Center that and mark it on the top I'll go ahead Center it mark it on the top or if I move it to the left I'll mark it to the right so we keep going and if you want to show that there yeah one there how deep is it oh it's fire it tell you how deep it is too it'll tell you on the screen it'll tell you on the left and it'll give you the measurement on the top oh right there it's telling me exactly that we got another piece and you can't hear it but right now it's audiable as well so it's alerting you audio oh okay so then we'll move it on along we're trying to pick up and then we'll pick up that one it's right 5 in we'll Center it up there we are and then we'll go all the way to the end we got plastic conduit at 4 in at 4 in how do you know it's plastic conduit by the it won't tell you what product it is it'll just tell you something in it'll tell you something okay so 4 in on that one was four and so we did a single detection mode there if we go back and we want to do a multi detection we'll go ahead and tape off three sections as we did now this size here three sections we'll go ahead and run it and our scanner will tell us to stop once we read the red point and that'll look something like this so it'll show you a multiple screen it'll show you three screens showing you the area that we just sced that's on M detction okay but I'm not seeing any of the stuff area not up it's mapping everything mapping it out look at that yeah all right I want to see it I want to see it mapped up all right so there it is mapped up in 3 seconds there it is yeah so each section has a measurements too so it'll show you that we found something at 6 in we found something at two found something at five found something at six so if you're looking for something a conduit that's fent or a rebar that's turning this is the way to do it how long is this been out I want to say it's been out more than 60 years that is a good cat secret I've never known this thing even existed there's other people now that are out there bragging about their stuff that does this technology and they just came out with it all right guys we're off to Vegas where World of Concrete is held every year and I know sometimes not everybody can make it out to that show so i' what I've done today is I'm going to visit the Makita booth and I'm going to show you all the wildest craziest tools that I could find inside of the Makita booth and all of their brand new tools and one of the things that Mita does that I don't see everybody or not very many other people doing is they love to do head-to-head tests they love to go up against the competition and show where they stand uh so we're going I'm going to show you all of that plus more but if you want to see more of World of Concrete I'm going to do two more things I've got an actual live walkthrough of the entire show that I did while I was at the show and that is like a 2 and 1 half hour video or something like that and it's just completely live I'm just walking exploring taking you along with I'm showing you everything that I can see inside and outside but if you want a condensed version of that where I find the coolest stuff and just get right to it I'm going to have a different world of concrete walk through where it's just boom Snappy we get right to everything it's not specific to any one brand out there it's just all of the coolest stuff I can find in one place but let's get today's Makita video going and and you know one of the things I do want to ask you guys is um what do you think of Makita my two cents is Makita has some of the largest tool offerings out there like the largest variety just a crazy amount of tools and they have not changed their battery platform form they have expanded it but they have not changed it which makes their old tools obsolete so the old makikita tools are backwards compatible with the current battery that's out there they've improved their Battery Tech and then when they needed to deliver more power for the higher end power tools they created a new battery platform while being able to keep the old battery platform still relevant still going strong still new Innovations I actually appreciate that because other to Tool brands have completely just eliminated their Battery Tech and that puts guys like you and I out of pocket for a whole line of tools that we may have invested in that we no longer can get replacement parts for maybe replacement batteries for and if we want to expand our tool line then we're buying extra batteries to go into the new tool line so that is one of the things that I really have always from day one appreciated about Makita very few people are doing that uh but let's dive in and let's find some more of the crazy stuff and show you some of the more of the new stuff as well let's get this video going shooting the same wire that you're shooting your hand tying with so also capacity you're up to a combination of number 17 here so 116 107 28 35s 4 fours whatever it may be going against our biggest competitor the max twin Tire what we're showing here is we're shooting 16 gauge wire compared to a 19 gauge so instead of wrapping it twice we're only going to wrap it one time and we're going to get a stronger TI that's what this your tie this on here tie this on here now this one always is set to a dual gauge wire twin tie yeah twin tie you guys are single tie all right and now we're going to do the torture test here we go we're going to put some pressure on go fail I saw it huh I saw it you saw it fail I saw it there let's do it again let's leave our there okay let's back it up let's back it up okay let lar least leave it there leave it there let's do two since you walked on the mat you didn't break it the first time we're going to see if we can break it now okay fail fail so you walked on your mat and you just broke all your fail fail we have our new 40 volt Max 16 gauge go any further I'm going to jump in here cuz watch in the background you're going to see little Snippets and it's the competition and they're not from the United States of America and they are filming and recording everything we're doing to the point where I've got to actually get in front of them and cut them off so that I can record for you guys here so this is the world's first 40 volt Max 16 gauge rebar tire so when I say 16 gauge I can turn it on first that Mak this is the same gauge wire that you see in mangual tying compared to the twin Tire over there that we just went head to-head on they have a dual 19 gauge line okay so why we did the 16 gaug for manual tying is we wanted to get stronger wies so say guys when they're making like floor mats if they walk on them if you don't have strong ties it's going to come apart so we're really focusing on tie string not only that this is our next Generation unit so it's also 30% faster compared to our previous generation and we now are getting 245 ties in a reel and the runtime for that in this 2 and 1/2 amp hour battery that's going to be 3600 Ties on this single small battery wow so the guy can go pretty far before he needs to even recharge can you open it up I want to show these guys how fast you reload it cuz it is a pretty fast easy reload system so you put your wire Spool in you connect it up and you get it actually hooked up to this gear right here so what you do is you just feed it right into the entrance of that gear and then you close it up and when you turn it on it'll pull it the rest of the way for right it does the rest of it for you when does it come out Nicole it's going to be launching in the next few like 3 to 6 months of what we're expecting awesome thank you price point price point do you know the price not yet okay stay tuned all right thank you so you have an ice chest warmer an ice chest warmer absolutely so this unit right here runs off two lxt batteries and it's got four cooling options and two heating options so it'll get down to about 15° uh and as high as 140 everybody thinks oh it' just be great for lunch but if you're ever doing epoxy work anything with silicone and you're in the cold weather this is how you preheat your tubes are you joking that's how you can get your work use out of it and then it'll double as fun on the weekend so it's an absolutely great tool oh why yeah why is that not been brought up more often you know I think it has and so we were finally listening to a lot of the contractors who were like you know we need a way to heat up our tubes and a lot of guys bring you know microwaves to the job site or they still put them on the floorboard or the dashboard working in cold weather right so makita's like you know what how long does the battery last on that that's a great question so these are 5 a hour batteries I turned it on at 8 yesterday and the first one at full blast stopped at 1:30 then it switched to the other one wait a minute so it lasted about 5 and 1 half hours on on high so two batteries would be about 10 hours of run time which would be enough for the for the work day for an enti just two batteries just two batteries two 5 amp hours you can bump that up to to uh what it what's your next uh I believe it'll fit six in here with the groove so it'll take up to a six so we still have a little bit of room to go up if you need more more runtime okay um but but it still runs off of 18vt batteries if you're inside or have an electrical source it does have an option for a plugin to your wall or a cigarette lighter option if you're out in the wild and plug now will it charge your if you plug it into a wall will it charge your batteries while it Heats your Silicone up so that you stays that stays relevant that's a great question unfortunately it does not so I was already asked that question before hopefully that'll be the next generation of ice chest that comes out maybe they can look into a charging feature but as of right now you cannot charge your batteries through the AV while it's on okay okay what's the leaders on the cooler the leaders on the cooler how how many how much does that cooler hold ooh I think it's 204 I don't know if we're going to talk leaders but let's talk pack it'll fit an 18 pack a 12 pack and definitely a six pack you got your priority straight game I just had to switch the unit of measure I love it thank you sir appreciate itome all right let's keep this girl rolling guys all right do we get to pick and choose who we're going up against we're going up against the wall going up against the wall yep what's the battery on that it's got the 60 volle are we full full ofice this is our 40 volt um we got three bars on ours I believe y bars almost so now this is your new Hammer all right so we're going to go put them head to head right yes sir at the head in 9/16 same bit six cutter yeah we'll swap SW bits if we need to all right let's do it I like that you're willing to swap bits 3 2 1 go you're good we go 3 2 2 one go okay almost do the one you work for Makita yes sir you work for Makita yes sir any of you guys willing to volunteer to do this so somebody doesn't work for Makita Troy come on up Troy all right you don't you don't work for Makita you will you be willing to come up no I work for Home Depot I got to be objective all right how about you Don you work for Home Depot can you come up and run this thing no anybody one of you guys run this thing for us hammer do you run Hammer yeah here come up suit and tie guy suit and tie guy all right official yes all right here we go so we yeah we're on a race okay I'll give you the 3 2 1 are you guys ready 3 2 1 go I love I love this one no vibration well one of the things it's got is for the user it's got the vibration technology yeah okay so that it vibrates and it fatigues the user less so he can use the more and get less fatigue it also has the autof feedback technology so let's say we're getting to rebar and hit it'll stop so it won't hurt the person okay it's also um xpt protection the battery's got we holes on the bottom so it does get um any water intrusion or anything it'll leak out see on the bottom there it's got Wei po down here or on the side a we po here the four we po oh the we there oh okay okay okay yeah and the battery's also protected inside okay and so is the tool has this come out yet yes it has yes it's available when does it uh what is the price point on it do you know um this is a gr H5 in a kit you're looking at under $1,000 awesome thank you sir welcome appreciate it you're welcome so we're here at the World of Concrete we're really excited to be showing Mac track especially in this space one it's a space that Makita does well in on rotary Hammers and power Cutters and two it's a space that tool boxes haven't been able to meet the needs of these users and one of the main reasons for that is the size of the tools so we have two trades kind of set up here first we'll talk about the concrete trade we have a 2in SDS uh Max rotary hammer side by side with a 9in uh Power cutter right two large tools individually that would be difficult to fit in any other box on the market but you can fit them conveniently inside of our rolling tool chest and still have space for Organization for your charger and additional tools okay and then as we step over here we're looking at the before pouring the preor side of the business right so we have the Woodworking and form work where you have a rear handle circular saw air nailer angle drill again long tools that wouldn't fit in other products or in other B so World of Concrete we really want to make that connection between the Makita Enthusiast and the large tools and do you have one set up okay so can you talk to me about your actual yeah so interior organization is really important not only fitting these long tools but also being able to have uh quick and easy access to your smaller components like your bit set so what we have here is an impact XPS fit set that's mounted to the lid so you always have access to those fast components we have a Molly panel divider mounted here as well using simple velcro wire ties we're able to mount hammers uh catspaw level things like that so allowing the user to personalize this for whatever their application is let's go over because you did some things with it Austin that I haven't seen done elsewhere and that is like your handle right now he's demonstrating the [Music] handle this right there that's what I was think dur got this rubberized gecko grip that's going to make firm contact with the tailgate here allowing a solo contractor at the end of the day I don't have a crew to help me out with this I split the weight with the bed of the truck bed slide it in I don't have to unstack each box take 100% of that weight and load them up individually can you show me the reversible lid as well yeah so this is a great app cuz we're seeing it out of the truck right so with the handle off to the side you're able to open this back without unstacking the uh box that's on top of it but we're working out of the truck right so let's say we're on a a busy street and I can't work from this side I got to go to the curb side well that's not a problem because we have a dual hinged lid you're able to access it from either side yeah you buy in pieces right and now you can actually stack all the way up to the top of the handle too yeah so let's show that so even the handle space is not wasted on these things so we're the first to the market with this that allows you to stack not only vertically but horizontally so you can have one two and three towers stacking up at the same time this is our extra large extension toolbox it utilizes this cleat system that's here on the side of this box and on the front of the rolling tool chest to be a front Rider on that handle and you can do it either way so it can stack there it can stack up on the top same thing with the uh open track system where you're able to stack from either direction here you're still able to stack either way here as well now is this out yet Austin yes these seven core products are Out Accessories are going to be following shortly all right did we cover everything with this yeah you did ask about uh maneuverability you want some of it yeah I do want to see that so as we talk about maneuverability want to call your attention to the wheels here okay these are 9in allterrain wheels made with two different Plastics to absorb that that shock one thing I want to emphasize here is a lot of the competitors have deep treading in their wheels which looks cool but there's no torque Behind These Wheels right if you're pulling the box it's going to follow you they don't need traction so the downside of that is it can catch rocks dirt debris and drag that from the outside into a finished flooring with ours has the shallow tread that's designed to divert that debris outward so you're not tracking it along with you that's I mean just the little things that's when I start when you start to point out little things and you're like you guys really did go above and beyond trying to design something so your wheels are designed to eliminate dirt before it gets tracked into the house yep that's the R&D that we started with right that's pretty freaking impressive isn't it it is yeah when I see a guy in the crowd going yeah that makes sense I'm not the only one then right wait a minute wait wait what are you showing me Andrew our interlock mechanism is the is is a track so that's very different from the leading competitors who either lock from the sides y or like the pack out um who has a pod system that you're only able to enter one way and connect so you can only go One Direction okay for meeting competitors and this really comes into play with our organizer product as you see here is a comparable our low Pro organizer and this interlock mechanism is really important you know this is such a premium product that changed the game in the marketplace by having things that are able to have more holding power from box to box okay that track is no different with all the things that are help each box connect with each other versus many of the boxes that have the side but so but there's a difference when you look at the lids and the profile of the lids now when you see the organizer there's air in there there's there's usable space and we and Makita wanted you to use that space versus the the competition where their Lids go into the box so what you're saying is you can get more volume with your system than the other guys is that basically what it boils down to if I'm understanding it correctly got it all right anything else Andrew that's it stand thank you thank you appreciate it uh show me the lights would you would you mind what what makes makita's lights better than the competition that's all…
