What happens here
This project details the essential steps for preparing heavy equipment, specifically a Hyundai wheel loader, a Kubota skid steer, a Kubota compact wheel loader, and an SDLG loader, for snow removal operations. The tasks include securely attaching a snow pusher to a wheel loader using chains, performing maintenance like fuel filter changes, and comprehensive greasing and fueling to ensure all machinery is operational and ready for snowstorms.

and right now our biggest asset is the biggest liability because of that curb Hazard that I asked them like four times is that the right one and it's like yes like how is that the right one when it's the like twice the size there there's all right as I was saying before the camera's battery rudely died on us all right let's see if it works [Music] now all right guys it's not snowing but that doesn't mean we're not working all of the crews are out busy taking care of things and getting ready in between the snowstorms so what we're going to do today is bring you along for the ride and just show you some of the stuff we do to keep our equipment as ready as we possibly can so before the next big event comes it gives us the ability to just hop in a piece of equipment and go and not be worried about all the little things that make it actually run so let's do that today what does Alex got you doing Zach um I was just going through fueling up equipment getting uh I got to do a fuel uh filter change out on the Kabota skid it gelled up that's the 75 gel uh yeah yeah it was running like the cat was the other year where it like would it want it still had power it was still running but you put any throttle into it it want yeah yeah yeah yeah um so you changing the the fuel filter on that one yeah I got to go R to the parch store and go grab a fuel do you got a grease gun yeah and you got grease yep okay so you're going to grease everything the front pins on the ASV were not working we kept GRE we grease those things all grab some chains chains we've got to get a pusher chained up to the Hyundai okay because uh the guy Jack that was running it he didn't want to run it cuz the way it's set up right now with just a pure bucket it's going to as soon as you hit a curb you're going to take the curb completely out you ain't going to feel it you're just going to peel the whole parking lot out yes and we need one of the we need the biggest Arctic we've got now it's at Sky View we need the biggest Pusher that we've got on the front of that Hyundai just chain that flipper right up ask Alex to help you chain it onto the bucket or do we just chain it on to the front doesn't make a difference how you chain it on you can chain it right on to straight to the front if you can otherwise you can chain it on a bucket but some way shape or form it's got to be there and stay there so that it's solid so that a guy is not worrying about it flopping off doing the crappy floppy when we're in the middle of a snowplow session thought we had one coming from Arctic you know what I can you want me to drive out there I can drive out there and go get it yeah things are slow uh they they don't have things ready on their end so we can't wait and they just got SW swamped the other week or whatever with that snowstorm too cuz everything missed a lot of us and hit Michigan and all them see I didn't know that but let's get us let's get a pusher up there that way I'm not bugging these guys to get their Pusher yeah cuz so The Pusher we're getting from Arctic has the giant deep sidewalk but it's not quite as wide but it'll contain more snow and it goes down the road better but until we actually get that we need something at least we got to be able to use our biggest asset and right now our biggest asset is the biggest liability because of that curb Hazard yeah and you can't see anything with that bucket we can't have it no and it's too far down so if you want to take the bucket off and chain it up but we got chains in my trailer here there's chains on Johnny's trailer he's not going to be using it that trailer is not going anywhere no not until not unless we got a truck and so I'd rather have you I mean you can bring my chains with you but I'd rather have one down from the yard right I don't want that's my only set of chains for that trailer so I want to make sure that we still have that yeah I'll grab some chains and I'll get that bolted on so grease everything fuel everything check tires I think they're all good but the the Kabota r530 might have an issue those tires are getting really weather checked so just check them over yeah that other Kabota yeah those tires are yeah and they're filled with beet juice so don't mess around with them no kidding I'm surprised we didn't blow it apart with that school when we had a we had came in there it was flat there was the Cabot r530 was flat yeah that front tire was flat that like off the rim flat no it it was like how we get the sledg edge when was this um during that school wall stuff oh if I captured all that footage and okay all right Zach's going to take the camera and go do what he does things oh all right this camera will work maybe I don't know it's a 10 but all right I probably should have grabbed the camera when I first got here but I didn't I was just kind of focused on getting stuff done I got a lot of stuff I got to do right now I got to try and Magic the skid plated one up to a loader connection one I'm basically probably just going to wrap a chain around here and on the other side it and probably try and pull it through and around I'm not sure there's so many pinch points right here here I don't know I might Loop it up to here or something maybe I'm not sure here I never tried this sh [Music] all right let's see if it works now got all chained up on there there so hopefully that works I got chained here Center binder pulling through there a convenient plane of car but yeah I got it chained up chained around pull tight well now let's see if it works it's just got to work temporarily this is not the dedicated Pusher for this machine the dedicated Pusher is is on its way and it's a much different design because it's got a deeper sidewall and it's narrower but it will hold actually more capacity than a 17 yard Pusher that video is coming real soon trust me cuz I just got back from picking it up but while this video is shooting we didn't have it available to hook it up yet so we've got to make do just in case a snowstorm does come through we're ready for it but let's just see how well Zack changed chained this up and if it's going to work a [Applause] all right so she kind of works I just got to get a little tighter on there [Applause] but least I got all the snow out of the way now so like to sit down on their flush but yeah I just got to do a little more tightening up and should be good to go hopefully [Music] all right that project's done and and I would this one's Auto greas in and and that's got fuel and fuel it's like I show you Greaser and all this other stuff but I already had done all this stuff up here before Stan called me to come grab the camera we got to change change plans all that other stuff so I still got to go do do do all the greasing and stuff at North High which I'll drag you along for so uh you'll see but everything up here is done all right made it up to North High here again I uh decide to just hop and start doing things cuz camera grabbing a camera is not really second nature but oh we got to get the do the fuel filter on here cuz that went I think it gelled up or whatever or it needs to be changed I don't think it's been changed ever I'm not sure but then we got to grease this up Grease the Sledge up back there and grease the Kota up then chop these two off as well we just filled them up probably the I think we just fill them up the night before or when we get right before we got done but might as well chop them off well them up here with fuel so that's also what we need to do so let's get to it we don't do maintenance be right before a snowstorm so if we know a blizzard is coming in I don't send a guy out there an hour ahead of time to start fueling things up or to do any greasing there's nothing worse than to get grease on your clothes and then to hop in a piece of equipment and have to do it 8 10 20 hour shift full of grease or getting diesel on your clothes or getting diesel on your boots and sniffing that stuff in nothing worse so once a snowstorm is over and a guy's had a chance to get some rest then we go out the next day and top everything off and grease everything up so that the next snowstorm that comes in is just plug and play and ready to go all right so we hit a bit of a snag the oil the fuel filter I picked up is like a mega one and I've asked that I asked them like four times is that the right one and it's like yes like how is that the right one when it's the like twice the size there there's all right as I was saying before the camera's battery rudely died on us as as we ran into a problem the fuel filter is a different size this is like a truck fuel filter I don't get why every single time I show up to go get a fuel filter it's truck fuel filter when none of our trucks dve have anything that big the dump truck but that's dump truck but no the fuel filter is right here I kind of dented it trying to get it off but then I real all right now this camera is being crappy with the batteries it wants to say the batteries are out of out of juice but they're at 90% okay so let's do this fast that that fuel filter is not the right size I pulled the other one off and it's a different size I got the number off of there I'm going to try and match [Music] we used to film everything with GoPros cuz you could drop them kick them bend them break them and they would still work but lately GoPros for cameras are garbage they just don't work so we're slowly switching away from GoPros I won't you won't find me buying any new GoPros anytime soon so if you guys film any of your job sites let me know what you use so that I mean I'll take recommendations any day of the week [Music] yeah I don't know if the video picks me up anymore go into some light over here day has become night and whatnot so can't really catch anything more but all I'm going to do is peel up these two machines and that should be good so all right catch you on the next one if you can see me well we got a lot of cool stuff coming down the pipeline we got a brand new Pusher we've got a brand new snow plot we got a lot of brand new stuff that we want to share with you so hit that subscribe button God bless go get them
