The World's TOUGHEST snow plow

What happens here

The Arctic team discusses the snowplow's development, highlighting that Arctic has been building plows for over 28 years with more than 20,000 units in the field. This specific snowplow, the Razor Back, is designed specifically for pickup trucks and represents Generation 3 of a product developed over five years. The testing process involves intentionally abusing the plow beyond recommended usage, such as hitting parking blocks and plowing at high speeds (up to 45 mph for closed-course testing, 20 mph for obstacle impact), to identify potential failure points.

Goal: Explain the product's background and the philosophy behind its rigorous testing.

at today is based on a very similar design to what you guys may be familiar with it's a snowplow that Arctic has been building for 28 years over 28 years and they have over 20 000 units out in the field being ran right now but now you have made this specifically for a pickup truck yeah so like everything we make we manufacture it for our own use and then we're going to put it through a series of tests for years now like you said it's been five years since we initially developed the product okay so so five years ago was your first prototype that came out yes and you guys built this for yourself we built it for ourselves and we knew right away that it was something that we had to go full head on into because of how well it worked and how enjoyable it is to use and now this is Gen 3. this is generation three yeah so this thing has completely changed from when you and Blake and Nick started this process five years ago yes and it's very similar but there's a lot that Blake has done over the years to make a difference so and we're gonna go over all of the differences but I want to know what did you guys do to it out in the field how did you test it so like everything which we don't recommend our end users doing we're going to be striking obstacles that you'll find in a parking lot we're going to be using it Beyond what we recommend to doing and that's like saying okay we're gonna go hit parking blocks we're gonna go plow at 45 miles an hour we're going to strike off wait a minute we plowed with us on the road at 45 miles an hour it was a close course okay and striking obstacles at 20 miles an hour it's like outside normal use you wouldn't want to do that on a pickup truck because your plow is not going to last very long so you were just doing it to see what part would break yes we see where are the failure points okay yep and then you take those failure points that was gen one then you go to gen two and then you keep perfecting it to we came up with what we're looking at right here yes which looks very similar to the Snow White to the snow wing and to the Arctic Sectional because you're borrowing tried and true technology if it ain't broke don't fix it kind of a mentality exactly okay so Bowl boards
