Battling snow for days.

[Music] foreign good morning one and all this is phase two of this sloppy wet storm and if it doesn't look like there's a whole lot of snow on the ground that's because there isn't yet we've got three to six inches of snow coming today and we are already all of us hard at work Blaine's in the truck over there my son-in-law Jake's running the Sledge we've got Jay coming in he's running the Kubota I'll be in the my Ram truck with the f-12 and everybody else is out here having fun so if you're wondering why we're already starting to work when the snow has not finished falling it's because we like to stay ahead of the storm and not let the storm get ahead of us uh so really what happens is when we come into these Lots we'll keep continually peeling off the snow as it comes down so that we just don't get overwhelmed in any way shape or form instead of letting it all fall and then doing it at once there does two things one that allows the traffic that comes in and out like we've got a coffee shop here they'll be here in probably an hour or two that lot will be clear when they come in yes the lot will fill up but then we'll continually do it we've got the Cancer Society here we've got to make sure that those guys can get in and out without any issues we've got a dialysis to beat a dialysis over there so we've got a number of medical facilities and high-end accounts that just can't we can't afford to have these people having any issues getting in or out of the building period so we make sure that we fight it right from the beginning to the very end which can lead for some very long days I know I'm doing a lot of talking that's because I got a little bit tiny bit of sleep and drink a lot of coffee gays over there in the Kubota already getting started on the coffee shop lot so without wasting too much of your guys's time we're going to take you along for the ride tonight we're gonna see how this thing goes this is going to be one of those storms that goes from night today back in tonight by the time this video ends I'm gonna probably look like I've been pulled through a keyhole and that basically means I'm gonna look like crap but it is what it is so you can see right here see where the edge is there's about a quarter of an inch of Blade left right there oh so that's what you're checking right there okay if at any point you see that getting down to this metal here yeah we're stopping okay for some reason we wore through a whole set of edges this year yeah yeah and I've put them on I don't know when right before we fly yeah right before yeah this is our I think it was a combination of the low Cutting Edge and I think that we're kind of riding on the bucket back heavy a little bit and I was kind of looking at that Cutting Edge over there that winter equipment one oh it's got that long straight edge that might help this this plow from riding back but the thing is that affects its back dragging quality yeah right so it's like that might be a good alternative but at the same time do we want it for back dragon or is it just a matter of making sure that the Boom is leveled out before we go and make sure and keeping an eye on your back so yeah just lift it up make sure that your back Cutting Edge right here is good but this thing is garbage stop bumping hook it on and I was halfway through bumper and then that I gone to about the same as this yeah I wonder how the Kubota is but you've had three different pushers on it so just uh make sure you're conscious of that so how long it's supposed to snow tonight it's supposed to be done already oh really that's why it's still snowing yeah [Music] so this I think it's this one has the winter equipment Cutting Edge on it exactly insane that cutting that so that's how it's supposed to go sideboards that's the winter equipment one though yeah oh yeah that's a different one that is a different one yep these guys at winter equipment these things they make the cutting edges for the D.O.T so really yeah oh yeah yeah I think I need to get a couple more all right teams of two right uh so we got the two loaders we got Zach and ASV you're gonna have this uh this camera uh Jason uh probably a big loader and a skid loader that way and another loader and another Skitty off the other way who likes working together with Jay there you go JJ he's throwing the Raptor yeah you gotta throw on the Raptor take that one back I don't mind you want the Raptor or do I actually like that you like the Raptor all right well switch him zash well I I usually always go that way all right coffee shop [Music] foreign [Music] everybody I wish I had a sight glass on here is it in there is it all out of fluid I wish why would it be out of fluid sitting here leaking did it leak I don't see any leaks down on the ground [Music] might be dry in there honestly I don't see anything in there weird that it keep it always squirts it out of the top though and then for a while they kept saying that it was just being overfilled and that's why I was pushing it out on the extra stuff like that stuff right there no maybe I might have some in my back behind my seat too on that side it is yeah let's get a little more in there are you even hooked up you're not all right no no he's hitting the bumper over here when it went down to get it to go into uh Reds or whatever so I could run it back here and then it just one go back up all right she's filled to the top I mean if it was rain dry the lines are probably empty so run it just hold down [Applause] stop stop you must have had a poor connection yep yep yep just a poor connection all that Dielectric grease gee my Ram did that to me yesterday I went out there dead ding ding ding I put the jumpers on it's still dead wouldn't even respond and I started punching the steering wheel I was just pissed I'm like and it just fired I was like well I'm gonna take the win right I'm gonna take the win all right but we got to get you hooked actually in up there we go yep put her in park yep yep don't move her foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] so we still got a lot of hours left to snow to come but you can see our lots are pretty clear and this is the American Cancer Society building we call this one because that's the building that we're doing we just want to make sure that this is nice and clean and easy for the guys coming in and out that they don't they got one less thing to worry about and we've got a number of buildings like that in our complexes so we just always try to to stay well uh well ahead of the game so those folks have a little easier time so we're just on the main main drag here and these roads are nasty there's one of my loaders right now in front of us boom that's bright that is bright so not it's all shaved on that's still Gonna Keep Falling On Us but there's nowhere in our Lots where anybody should be struggling looks like these guys have this side pretty well under control just put 40 gallons of gas on guess how much that cost 40 gallons how much do you think 40 gallons of fuel just cost diesel put it on the truck so I could top off the machines now I didn't use off-road fuel I should have but the off-road place is another 20 minutes away so I went went short and sweet all right I'm gonna show you guys probably one of the worse things you can do is just show it's pure Amateur hour and it's not driving off from the road and almost hitting that tree right there looks like somebody did that it's this pile of snow right here that came from Costco up the hill and they the loader bring brought it down let's just make sure and you can see directly where they pushed it right across the street and if you're not familiar with snow plowing it's kind of like taking your lawn clippings putting them in a bag and throwing them in your neighbor's yard it's just something you don't do if a City plow truck came by and seen you guys doing this or somebody doing this they would stop and chew you out and that's how I learned about it the first time I thought it was okay to do my first year or two back in business I think that was in like 1863 and I got my butt chewed out and you still you still see guys doing it to this day you can right see the tracks right where they came up and piled their snow across the road there and over there it's the biggest mistake you can make one of them there's a few but that's one that sticks out like a sore thumb [Music] foreign [Music] about the size of that machine you just gotta have skinny tires no just enough of a slant here to give him a hell of a time yeah he's having one heck of a time in that thing yeah look at it yeah he can't he's having a hard time right there much better our machine pushes better this right here versus that in the back push right now I bet I I bet you'd win dude like a tractor pull style you'd win if you wonder where Winter is it's right here in Minnesota and this is why we've been out here fighting this snow all night long trying to stay ahead of this game that's a big plow in a tight spot this is going to get interesting really fast I have a feeling let's just see if we can't get that plow through that drive lane well heck that doesn't look too bad that's a big plow and a little spot I hope you guys are enjoying your winter I'd love to hear where you guys are located
