Replacing a Wax Ring...Avoid a Plumbing FAIL!

What happens here

After securing the toilet, the bolts will likely extend past the nuts. Use a mini hacksaw to carefully cut off the excess length of the bolts, making sure they are flush with or slightly below the top of the nuts. Be careful to avoid scratching the porcelain. After cutting, clean up any metal shavings with a paper towel. Place the plastic bolt caps (with the 'this side up' indicator facing up) over the nuts, pressing them firmly into place. Reconnect the flexible supply line to the toilet tank's fill valve, ensuring it's hand-tightened first, then gently snugged with an adjustable wrench.

Goal: Finish securing the toilet and restore water supply.
