Refinishing A Front Door. Clear Coating A Door With Urethane.

What happens here

Set up your airless sprayer, such as a Titan 440 Impact. Place the water-based satin spar urethane clear coat in a stable container, like a 5-gallon bucket, to prevent accidental tipping. Adjust the sprayer's pressure to a relatively low setting, as spar urethane is a thin product and doesn't require high pressure for proper atomization; a setting around 12 o'clock on the dial is suggested. Attach a fine-finish tip, like a Graco Raxx 310 tip, to the sprayer gun, possibly with a 6-inch gun extension for better reach and control. Prime the sprayer according to manufacturer instructions.

Goal: Prepare the airless sprayer with water-based spar urethane, adjust pressure, and select the appropriate tip for a smooth, even application.

[Music] Okay, I'm getting my Titan 440 impact. setup right here to spray this door. It's an airless sprayer. Got my water-based clear coat sitting inside this 5gallon bucket so it doesn't tip over. And I'm going to set my airless sprayer pressure at a at a fairly low pressure. I don't want it up super high cuz this is a really thin clear coat. It doesn't take a lot of pressure. I'm going to set my pressure on this Titan 440. I've got it set about 12:00 and we're going to see how that functions for me on my first coat. And I'm going to be using a Graco uh Rack X fine finish tip, a 310 tip. So, here we go.
