Refinishing A Front Door. Clear Coating A Door With Urethane.

What happens here

After removing the door, immediately cover the open doorway with plastic sheeting. This helps to keep the interior climate controlled (preventing heat or cool air loss) and keeps bugs, dust, and other airborne debris from entering the home. In an outdoor area, set up a stable workstation by placing two 5-gallon buckets (or similar stable supports) on a level surface. Place cardboard shields on top of the buckets to prevent any scratches or damage to the underside of the door when it's laid flat.

Goal: Cover the door opening to maintain indoor climate control and prevent debris entry, then establish a stable and protected outdoor workstation for the door.

Okay, now I've removed that the door. I'm going to set it up out here in the grass on two 5gallon buckets. I put some plastic plastic up over the door so no bugs or dust will go flying in the house. And it's just good customer service to cover up that opening for the customer so they don't lose a lot of their heating or cooling either. So, we're going to set this door on here. I'm going to put some cardboard shields on the buckets to actually protect the opposite side of the door. You want to use some type of protection cuz the buckets or whatever you set it on could actually scratch that door.
