How To Stain A Wood Sided House. Stain A House In One Day.

In this video, we're going to show you how we go about staining a house in one day. We got a 3,000 ft house. We're going to stain this house. We're going to stain the fence on the side and actually stain the back deck. We got five crew members here from 7 to 5. We're going to get it done in one day. We're going to show you that process. Simple process going to be done by a fast and efficient crew. We actually came prior to today and to actually stain this house and we powerwashed it and then let it dry. came back and did some prep work, some cocking and stuff on this house. And now we're going through the staining process. And we're going to show you how it can be done in one day with five members doing the house, the deck, and the fence. This side of the house is is actually beat up pretty bad from the sun. And we sprayed some stain on here. sprayed a coat just to kind of pre- prime it. Now we're actually going back and back brushing a heavy coat and then we're going to come back over that and spray and back brush it again. [Music] Right now I'm just actually pre-back brushing some of the spots on the siding that don't have any of the stain on it previously that's all worn off. That's going to take multiple coats. It's typically going to be about three coats. I'm gonna back brush some over that. Then we're going to come back and spray and back brush. And then we'll spray our final coat. [Music] and I'm going to show you the process of spraying and back brushing this house so you get a lot more life out of the stain and a lot more life out of the wood. So, here we go. We're out here. We got John on the spray gun. I'm back brushing right behind him as he's spraying and we're going to show you that process. [Music] And I've got my stain brush right here. We're just using a nice, good quality stain brush. And right here, you can see the stain brush that John uh is actually spraying doing the spraying using a Graco Rack 515 tip. And we're on our second coat right now. I'm not back brushing the second coat. I'm going ahead of him right now and back brushing some of the first coat before he's getting to the second coat. So, we'll get done with this first coat on the front side of the house. We're going to be moving to the back side of the house. Doing the first coat. We'll show you that back brushing process on the first coat. So, we've already sprayed the first coat, back brushed the first coat of this solid color stain on this woodsided house. Now, we got John going back and spraying a second coat over the top of that. And we won't be back brushing that coat. That will be our final coat. [Music] So, we're spraying this stain. You can see we got one guy spraying another guy's back brushing. And the sprayer we're actually using, we're using a Graco Rackex 515 tip to actually spray this stain on. We're using some nice thick stain brushes to do the back brushing. And we're showing you this process. Hopefully, this makes it simple for you to understand. [Music] So, we started staining this house about 7:00 this morning. It's about noon time, about halfway done. We got the whole front side done, two sides of it done, working our way around the back. We got these two garage doors. We're actually going to sp paint them a semi or uh satin stain, a satin paint from Shervin Williams, and we're going to be showing you that process here, too. Okay, we sprayed this stain all around these doors. Now I'm going to go and spray them with the satin paint. Got it masked down on the ground with uh 9in paper, 1in tape. And don't need to worry about the edges of it. Masking the edges cuz we're going to be trimming the doors out and the stain so we can get the paint oversprayed right on the trim. And we'll just raise the doors up. When that dries, go back and put the solid color stain around the trim. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Also along with this house, we did the fence right here that this length of the fence. Then we did this house solid color stain. Did the fence a solid color stain and then we're doing this deck a semi-transparent stain. Started at 7. It's about 4:00 now. Here's a look down the side. The fence we did. Now we're going to be looking at the front of the house. This is the length down the front. Get a give you a better view from out the front. Now we're looking at the opposite side of the house. Just getting this all cleaned up. Got a little bit more masking. about an hour.
