What happens here

This video demonstrates the installation of a FloodStop leak detection and automatic water shut-off system for a washing machine. The system is designed to prevent catastrophic floods by cutting off the water supply if a leak is detected, thereby protecting against damage from broken hoses, clogged drains, or internal leaks within the washing machine. The installation involves connecting solenoid valves to the hot and cold water lines, placing a water sensor on the floor, and mounting and connecting a control unit.

hey folks that fix a guy here today we're gonna be talking about flood stop flood stop is a leak detection system that will shut off the water to your washing machine if you have a broken hose if you have a clogged drain if you have leaky parts inside your washing machine this is a pretty cool product one of my friends that old service plumber had some of these laying around and he said hey if you're doing another video on discovery before damage you should check these out people should know about these and so as I looked at it I thought it was pretty cool so this setup comes with two solenoids and a water sensor the second that water hits the water sensor those solenoids slam shut and water off I'm going to show you how to install this product I also did a little test out in my front yard on my hose bib and so I'm gonna show you that as well and we're also gonna put the words on this box to the test because if you flip this around it says that it's a five-minute installation as easy as dot-dot-dot I'm gonna say that I don't think I'm gonna be able to get this done in five minutes we're gonna give it a shot so this is gonna be a pretty simple install the tools we're gonna use are just gonna be a screw gun and a pair of channellocks so let's get to fixing [Music] okay so before I go and hook this up I just wanted to show you guys I kind of just rigged it up to my garden hose here you can only hook up one solenoid valve but you can see that the green light over there is on and we're gonna go ahead and give this a test okay so we've got that set up this is our this is our water sensor right here we're gonna go ahead and see what it takes to make this thing go off so hopefully when it's all said and done this test is gonna accomplish a couple of things we're gonna get the water to shut off and we're gonna actually hear an alarm let's turn the water on right away and shut it down so I have to say I got my front yard testing this and my couple my neighbor's but not too happy about the sound of that thing going off so they're like what the heck it's good we're gonna go actually hook it up to the washing machine and I'll show ya just how quick of an install it is and right on the box we've got two solenoid valves so one for hot one for cold just unscrew those you can see they got little flow arrows so you just go with the flow so these actually are gonna install up like this a lot of cord going on which it's not attractive and desirable but long as it serves a function right and we've got a water sensor so this bad boy is just gonna sit down on the floor we've got the flood watch system so this is gonna be a beeper you can tell and you can reset it here and test it and it's gonna have a little indicator light on it this is actually where your power source hooks up and your sensors and your solenoid valves hook up here as well some of these cheapo bad boys oh you can tell this box is definitely a little bit old and power supply so that's it I'm gonna go ahead I'm going to show you how to install this bad puppy alright so the first thing I'm gonna do is I'm actually just gonna take a towel however you can get it to where you're not gonna get water everywhere it might have to be on the floor it could be right there wherever you can do it then you're just gonna shut off both the hot in the cold water gonna take some 420 channel locks we're just gonna unscrew we take our two solenoid valves just unravel this a little bit get out of our way I'll just start over here on this side so then we'll just take this and we will hook it up you can see there's a little notch right there and then there's this part of this tab you just click that in place and so then it'll just take the sensor I'm just gonna kind of feed it back down here some I tell you that this grabber from the dollar store is paying off in dividends man so we'll just put that back there with the alarm and stuff we're actually not gonna put in the drywall we're gonna take it around and we're gonna stick it right on the side of this cabinet we're gonna flip the plus up around we're gonna look at this we're gonna measure we're going to go so we're going to go 2 and 7/8 across hooked out okay so then we're just gonna take this plug in and just plug it right into the bottom here then we're just gonna come right around here or and put that in place you can see the green light is came on so we'll just hit the test button the last thing we're going to do is we're going to take some cords and we're gonna kind of get them a little bit nicer than what they are right now because this is a little bit crazy all right so that's the flood stop system it came recommended by a friend for the discovery before damage series which I like it it fits right into that category it's awesome like the solenoid valves slamming the valve shut and cutting the water off to the washing machine will definitely save you from a laundry room flood I really hope this video will help somebody I'll put an affiliate link in the description box below for the tools and the material used so if you can please subscribe to the channel like us share us with your friends and family be greatly appreciated thank you very much and have a good evening
