OUR BIGGEST FAILURE YET 😬 On Our Biggest Deck Ever!
What happens here
To reinforce the concrete countertops and prevent cracking, a grid of wire mesh (rebar) is laid over the HardieBacker base, within the prepared forms. The team uses specialized rebar tying tools to secure the intersections of the wire mesh, ensuring a strong and stable reinforcement cage. All gaps and seams in the wooden formwork are then meticulously sealed with silicone caulk to prevent concrete from leaking out during pouring, which would result in uneven edges.
Goal: Install concrete reinforcement and seal formwork for pouring.
