Newell Coach Air System Leaks: Installing New Compressor Governor

What happens here

After confirming the governor replacement is successful, shift focus to the air dryer cartridge area. Locate the air dryer cartridge, which is typically tucked into the wheel well on the driver's side. To gain better access, use 22-ton jack stands to raise the motorhome and then bleed all air from the system, allowing the suspension bags to fully deflate. This will lower the coach and provide more working space. Once access is improved, spray soapy water around the air dryer cartridge and its connections, listening and looking closely for any hissing sounds or bubbles, as the creator could already hear a leak from this area.

Goal: Access and inspect the air dryer cartridge for leaks.

Tools and materials

  • 22-ton Jack Stands — To safely raise and support the motorhome for access
  • Headlamp — Illuminating the work area, especially in dark or cramped spaces
  • Soapy Water — Detecting air leaks

and i did dump all the air out of the system uh before i did this because if you unhook that line and it's got a 120 psi in there it's freaking all over the place so it's got no air in i'm gonna put this on and then when we do the dryer cartridge it is like way tucked back in there um i'm gonna do that fire this thing up air it all the way up and then put jack stands under there and then drain the air so i can have better access to that cartridge and i've never actually used those jack stands before i had to get them on amazon they're like 22 ton big mofos like not ones that you would put on a car
