The presenter uses a 4x12 foot canvas runner, which is ideal for stairs as it provides ample coverage without excessive bulk on the sides. Carefully unroll and position the drop cloth to cover the entire width of the stairs, ensuring that no unmasked carpet is exposed. This added layer of protection is crucial for catching any drips or splatters during the painting process.

Goal: To provide an additional layer of protection, lay down a canvas drop cloth over the masked carpeted stairs, ensuring it covers the entire walking surface.
