How to Spray Doors With SUPER STACKERS!

this christy idaho painter here on paint live tv today is another tool talk tuesday and i'm going to be showing you a new tool and this is called the super stacker and this is going to make painting doors a little easier for you if you're limited by room or space or if you don't want to spray your doors up because you're uncomfortable with them running and then a couple other things that make super stackers a little bit more convenient for spraying doors we'll talk about in this video so stay tuned all right here's the super stacker we're going to show you how this thing is actually installed on a door we've got i've got three doors to spray today and i don't want to have to mask off and set up inside to spray because it's just dust over spray stuff like that so i'm going to spray these outside i don't want to stand them up because there's a little bit of breeze outside and i don't want to risk having them blow over so i'm going to spray them using super stackers these doors will can stack on top of each other after you sprayed with this simple little tool i got a whole box of them here so i can do multiple doors at a time i can spray you know 20 30 doors it takes two super stackers per door and all you got to do is screw them on the top in the bottom of the door i just use a construction screw a two and a half inch number eight construction screw screw them on the ends of the doors and just a phillips head screwdriver very simple and easy to do and this makes it so you can just spray a door flip it over you do have to have a second person to flip it over and then you can spray you spray the other side and then set it on another saw horse spray another one get that one done and stack it on top of that one and you can just start stacking them on top of each other so they're installed very simply i got to do some prep on these doors first but we're going to show you how simply a super stacker installs just going to take in the end of my door and it's got four holes on it you can choose the narrow holes or you can choose the wide holes to screw them onto just gonna stick my two and a half inch screws it could be like a drywall screw a construction screw any type of screw i'm just going to set this right in the center of the door now my super stacker is installed on the door it's got two handles on the end that you lift it up and you flip the rotate it and then you use two hands another person to stack them so we're getting this door ready gonna do some sanding and prep work and get this door sprayed okay when installing your super stackers there's kind of these little um nipples on the ends of the super stackers right here the tops of them and you all want to have them either up or down because that's going to set inside of the opposite side of the super stacker and it sets right in there and that's what gives it the ability to on the stability to stay where it's at and be stackable so all your super stackers need to be um up or down so we've got a super sector right here that one is up and one is down and you don't want that so we'll just flip this around all right we're gonna install the super stackers on this door now so once again you can stick holes outside or inside i'm going with the inside ones make sure both sides are either up or down just center your super stacker right in the middle of the door doesn't have to be perfect just screw it in tightly make sure your screws have about you're probably about three quarters of an inch bite into the door that way they're on there securely again i'm using two and a half inch number eights so nipple sides down the sides down if you're accustomed to spraying the bottoms or painting the bottoms of the doors you know after you're done spraying it they're dry you can remove your stackers and then just roll the top and bottom of the door the tops and bottoms here where i'm from in idaho are very rarely ever painted they're usually on especially interior doors exterior doors you might see them painted interior doors tops and bottoms are not painted so this one's all ready to go [Music] kind of an unusual situation in this house uh all the doors seem to be like different heights and stuff which is very unusual but this uh door the interior exterior door is two inches shorter than uh this interior door and this interior door is about a half an inch shorter than the other one but the two super stackers um they're lining it up correctly this one it goes into the holes there and it's going to stack right on top we're just going to have to be careful when we actually stack them but it's going to work so kind of unusual situation usually all your doors are the same height and stuff with this house has your kind of kind of unusual situations but so you can see how they're stacked up and you can just keep stacking them up just like that and it makes it really convenient spraying [Music] all right i got my sprayer all set up now i do like to spray with a gun extension that way i have more reach to reach over to the opposite side of the door you gotta watch for spits don't start and stop spraying on your door always spray off the surface so we're going to spray this flip it over and then do the other side [Music] as i continue spraying if i got quite a few doors my uh gal and i'm down about halfway you know empty on my gallon i want to tilt that thing so i don't actually suck air so you can get as much out of that gallon these um sprayer savers right here are absolutely perfect for this situation and it just sets a five gallon or a gallon will set in there it'll set at an angle now it tilts all the product down so it's gonna be um down towards where the uh rock filter is intake tube is so you're less likely to suck air get more out of that paint uh this product the sprayer saver the rz mask i absolutely love these masks now they're a lot more comfortable than your standard mask some of the tools and accessories store.idahopainter.com all right a couple other simple little bonus tips i got for you and that's spraying the doors you know outdoors one of the things you're i'm invariably gonna run into is um bugs leaves um cottonwood trees stuff like that you know i always have my tool bag with me that has certain tools in it and one of the tools that you always want to have with you is a pair of tweezers you can grab that bug before he walks all over your door and you have to respray it so take those tweezers as soon as that guy lands on there the cottonwood you can just grab it with your tweezers and get that off another thing is it's super hot super bright um because it's so bright out here i wore my sunglasses the entire time in the video so you can't see my eyes but they're polarized glasses uh the doors are very bright so i'm wearing glasses and i'm wearing um edge polarized glasses so i don't get so much glare you know and i can see a lot better where i'm spraying on this door come a couple little simple handy tips spraying outdoors white doors [Music] all right so if there's any questions or comments or questions pertaining to spraying the doors i was actually running my sprayer i was running at about 2500 psi i was running a titan 4 10 5 or 410 fine finish tip rx pro gun right here and it was the titan 410 impact i've got our own custom pencil whips are a lot softer than our standard whips but i've got a short 25 foot hose because i just had one gallon of paint wanted to spray three doors i didn't want to have to get a second gallon to load up and this hose inside diameter is smaller so it takes less paint to load up 25 foot hose three foot pencil whip super soft whip makes spraying a lot easier i want to just uh give you um just a pointer about is when using these super stackers is these things are stacked down there's you know not very much gap in between these doors so the doors are going to dry slower than they normally would be if they're standing up if you want them to drive faster get you know some airflow through here to get the chemicals that are trapped in between those doors you'll flush out of there so they can you'll dry quicker if you do use some type of forced air going through there just make sure you're not blowing any dust but just you know just a simple little tip it's gonna you know increase the dry time so it's gonna take longer for these doors to dry but you know the one thing is that you'll be able to stack your doors spray them down and really load that paint on there and get a lot of paint on these doors you know one time and not have to come back and put a second coat is you know a great feature with these super stackers all right there we go we couldn't get them quite lined up in the holes but they're stacked and now ready to dry now if i need to paint the bottoms once i pull them off i can just roll the bottoms of the doors but they're all nice and stacked very simple easy to go so once again some of the benefits to doing this is not having overspray go up in the air but just sent right down on your drop cloths if overspray is a big concern of yours but also being able to spray them just laying down save space you don't have to have doors all standing up in an accordion your type pattern so it takes up you know multiple rooms spraying doors if you've got 20 doors of spray you can spray them stack them takes very limited room to do you can load you can see i put two coats of paint i went over them two times with no fears of them running so no runs a simple way to spray your doors with
