Main Panel Cover Falls on Electrician Apprentice, why you need to learn through experience #electric

What happens here

After installing the breaker, the electrician removes the main panel cover. A 1/2 inch Romex wire connector is then installed into an available knockout on the electrical panel, providing a secure and compliant entry point for the 8/2 Romex wire. The wire is pulled through this connector, and the excess is carefully coiled and strapped within the panel to keep the wiring as neat as possible, which aids in troubleshooting and airflow.

Goal: Securely bring the new 8/2 Romex wire into the electrical panel and organize it.

Tools and materials

  • 1/2 Inch Romex Wire Connector — Securing the Romex wire to the electrical panel at the entry point
  • 8/2 Romex Wire — The power supply cable for the EV charger
  • Electrical Panel — The main electrical distribution point
  • Staple Gun Milwaukee — Securing the internal wiring neatly (though often external routing is what is stapled)
