Leaking Tub Spout? How to Fix a Dripping Bathtub Faucet FAST (DIY Plumbing Repair)

What happens here

To finish the repair, apply a bead of DAP Kwik Seal Plus siliconized acrylic caulk around the base of the escutcheons where they meet the tub surround. Smooth the caulk with your finger or a wet sponge for a clean finish. Crucially, leave about a 1-inch gap uncaulked at the very bottom of the tub spout, where it meets the wall. This gap allows any potential future leaks from behind the wall to become visible immediately, rather than collecting unnoticed and causing hidden damage within the wall.

Goal: Seal the faucet against the wall while allowing for future leak detection.
