Last Minute Emergency- Boulder wall washes out pt#1
What happens here
The crew identifies a section alongside the house where a dry creek bed will be installed. This area previously suffered from drainage issues, indicated by wet, muddy soil and damage to the house siding from a previous skid steer attempt. The Bobcat mini excavator carefully digs a trench to create the bed, removing excess soil. This excavated soil is then transported by the Cat skid loader to another part of the property, where it will be used to build a ramp over a lower retaining wall, allowing access for heavy machinery to other areas of the backyard.
Goal: Dig the dry creek bed trench and move excess soil to form a ramp base.
Tools and materials
- Bobcat Mini Excavator Bobcat — Digging the dry creek bed trench and initial soil movement
- Cat Skid Steer Loader Caterpillar — Transporting excavated soil to the ramp location
- Slattrax — Protecting the paver patio while the skid steer crosses over it to reach the ramp construction area
- Excavated Soil On-site material — Creating the base for the access ramp
