What happens here

This video demonstrates how to replace a leaking P-trap under a kitchen sink. The first step is to remove the old P-trap and J-tube after placing a container underneath to catch any water. Next, the old J-tube is inspected for damage and compared to the new one. The new J-tube is then installed with a new washer and nut, attaching it to the drain pipe with the beveled side of the washer facing the pipe. Following this, the new P-trap is connected to both the sink drain and the J-tube, using new washers and nuts with the beveled sides facing the correct direction. Finally, the system is tested for leaks by running water in the sink and checking all connections.
