Kitchen Makeover + FINAL FINISHES (EP.5)

What happens here

Identify the locations of the existing pendant lights on the ceiling. Use a drywall saw or oscillating multi-tool to remove the electrical boxes and cut out the surrounding drywall to expose the ceiling cavity. Patch these holes with new drywall pieces, securing them with screws. Apply hot mud to blend the patches with the ceiling. For the new pendant light locations, identify the desired drop-down points over the island. From the attic, route new electrical wiring to these locations and cut new holes in the ceiling for the new electrical boxes. Mount the electrical boxes and prepare them for fixture installation. Patch any additional small holes in the ceiling. Note: The video shows an initial plan to suspend junction boxes in the attic, but this plan is revised to attach them to trusses for safety and stability.

Goal: Reposition pendant lights and ensure a smooth ceiling finish.
