I MESSED UP A VIDEO…LETS GET TO FIXIN

What happens here

Prepare the solder by bending the tip of the solder wire to make it easier to apply. Attach the BernzOmatic TS4000 torch head to the Harris MAP/Pro gas tank. When heating, focus the flame primarily on the fitting, as it has more material and requires more heat to reach the soldering temperature. Heat the joint until the blue torch flame starts to turn a slightly green color, indicating the copper is at the correct temperature for the solder to flow. Apply the solder from the opposite side of the heat, allowing capillary action to draw the solder around the entire joint.

Goal: Solder the copper pipe and fitting together

Tools and materials

  • Copper Pipe — The pipe being soldered
  • MAP/Pro Gas Tank Harris — Fuel for the torch
  • Solder — Joining the copper pieces
  • Torch Head BernzOmatic TS4000 — Heating the copper joint
