What happens here

This video demonstrates how to fix a wobbly bathtub handle. First, remove the button or cap on the handle, revealing a screw. Protect the drain to prevent the button falling in. Then, remove the screw using a screwdriver. Apply blue removable thread locker to the screw and handle threads. Reassemble the handle by reinserting and tightening the screw. Finally, replace the button.

this is the wobbliest tub shower handle in the whole world hey folks that fix the guy here and today i'm going to show you how i'm fixing this loose tub shower handle right here this is going to be a super simple fix so come along let's get to fixing first things first there is a little button right here that's going to pop out but before we do that you want to go down there make sure your drain's plugged okay stuff it with a rag do something you do not want this little piece falling down there then you just take this you can take it with your finger your thumb you can't get it out grab a utility knife and pop this little button out this is actually just going to give you access to the screw so grab yourself a screwdriver or a six in one and you're going to stick it in the hole you're going to go to the screw but check that out it's too short so instead of going car what i'm going to do is just take that out a little bit right you can see there's that little ball bearing in there right there that keeps this in nice and secure but if we take it out past that just a little bit it extends it just enough to where we can get that off of there probably want to do this two hands but i'm trying to balance it all so i don't drop my camera and man this is heavy this is i think it's a solid chunk of brass right here honestly this is man it's got some weight to it so you're able to just pop this through out yeah it actually has a brass screw too i'm not sure what this is does anybody know what kind of shower valve this is i'm not 100 sure like i've seen that handle set up before but there's nothing on here that tells me what it is but regardless super heavy and it's not staying and it actually screws right into this plastic part of the cartridge right there you can screw it in it actually feels like it fits pretty well so what i'm thinking we're going to do here is we're going to put some thread locker on that this is actually going to be the blue stuff this is removable and we're gonna put some right here and then also on this handle this piece right here comes out and it seems to be pretty loose too so we're gonna go ahead we're gonna put a little bit on that we're gonna put this together and then this should be hooked up and should not come apart anymore should end up being a lot more stable is i noticed a little bit of moisture in here this is going to take a little dry time but we don't want any water kind of getting us screwed up here so let's just get some of that out of there get that as dry as we can so we'll pop this apart we'll actually do this one first all right a little bit of this as we know goes a long way right and that's it just a little dab will do us it'll work its way the whole way around that and then that's all it's gonna need to do now we just give this dry time so once we get this handle back on we'll just give this whole thing dry time before they use it and it's gonna be good to go [Music] pop that bad boy in place and that will put a little bit on here pop that button back on and look we got no play it's good we're rocking and rolling minimal wiggle and that's because the cartridge is plastic and this is a solid brass handle give this a little bit of dry time and it's going to be very sturdy we should not have this issue again thread locker to the rescue again make sure you go with the blue removable if you ever have to take this apart all right folks so all it took was a little bit of thread locker and a screwdriver and we're back in business there give it a little dry time and there should be no issue with this remember make sure to go with the blue if you go with the red the heavy duty you might have a little more of a hard time than you want to get that back apart and you need access to it just sometimes you've got to actually take the shower handle off again i really hope you folks for enjoying the videos please subscribe click that like button we'd love to have you keep coming back check us out on facebook we're trying to do some things over there this is all about helping people and that's what we're trying to do thank you very much and we'll see you again real soon
