How Wood Fence Posts are Made
What happens here
Inside the factory, the cut logs are fed onto a conveyor system that leads them to a large industrial lathe. This lathe spins the logs at high speeds, while specialized blades precisely peel off any remaining bark or irregularities, along with some sapwood. The goal is to produce perfectly round, uniform fence posts. The wood removed during this shaping process is also collected as chips and routed for bio-fuel production.
Goal: Create uniformly round and smooth fence posts.
