How Wood Fence Posts are Made
What happens here
After debarking, the logs proceed to a cut-off saw. This large circular saw precisely cuts the logs to the appropriate lengths required for various fence post specifications. Any remaining log sections that are too small to be used as posts are also diverted to the chipper to be processed into bio-fuel. Following the cutting, the posts are automatically sorted into different bins based on their size and diameter, preparing them for the next stage of shaping.
Goal: Cut logs to appropriate lengths and sort them by size.
