When spraying near ground-level areas such as footings, utilize your cardboard shield to prevent paint overspray onto the concrete or other unintended surfaces. Position the cardboard shield firmly against the surface you want to protect, then spray the siding immediately above it. This technique allows for a clean paint line and protects surrounding elements.
