Proceed to the back of the gun. Use the 5/8 inch box wrench to loosen and unscrew the spring housing. Once the housing is removed, carefully pull out the old spring. Behind the spring, there will be a small component (a seat retainer or push rod); remove this as well. These components will be replaced by new ones from the packing kit.

Goal: Access the needle assembly by removing the rear housing and spring mechanism.
