How to Repack or Repair A Graco Airless Spray Gun. Graco airless gun repairs.

Chris. Today in this video, we're going to show you how to replace the packing kit on a Graco Go contractor gun. In this task, you're going to need a 5/8 inch box wrench. I use to re uh remove the pin that goes through the trigger. I use a 9/32 socket and a crescent wrench. And then you're going to need possibly a pair of pliers to pull out the needle assembly if it's stuck in there pretty tightly. and we're going to be replacing it with a new packing kit, a Graco packing kit, which is a part number 288488. And to begin this task, all you're going to do is just take your 5/8 inch box wrench. You're going to release your knuckle guard so it swings free. This box wrench just going to take off your diffuser. And I always squeeze the trigger while I'm removing this thing. Get your diffuser off. Diffuser is going to come off. Just take your knuckle guard. Set your knuckle guard aside. This is the old diuser. The packing kit comes with a new one. We're going to take off the back of the gun, the spring housing. Loosen that up with our 5/8 inch box wrench. Just unscrew the back of this gun here. And going to set that aside. Pull out the spring. You're going to be getting a new spring with your packing kit. And then there's the back. You don't want to lose this. And then now your needle assembly is exposed. You just got to take off the pin that goes through the trigger cuz that's what keeps the needle assembly locked in there. So I take my 930 32 wrench and my crescent wrench. I'm just going to un loosen that the bolt on the opposite side of the pan. Now that pin will come out and you're going to get a new pin assembly with the packing kit. Now this packing kit, if you pull it, your needle assembly will pop right out. Now we're going to begin installing our new needle assembly. And our new needle assembly is right here. Going to drop that right down inside. And you want to see there's a hole in the needle assembly. You want to make sure it goes right through. You can stick your new pin down through the trigger. It's going to pop through the other side. And now we're going to screw our new nut on there. Now that new nut is tightened down, needle assembly is installed. We're going to drop this little, it looks like kind of a top hat. We're going to drop that down. So, the hole is going to drop right on the back. Going to drop our new spring in. the housing to the spring is going to screw right back on the back using our 5/8 inch wrench. We're going to tighten that down. Now the needle assembly is in there tight. You can check the trigger nice and tight. We're going to put our new diffuser on. Got our new knuckle guard. The old knuckle guard. We're going to stick our diffuser right through the knuckle guard. we begin screwing on our diffuser. You want to pull your trigger down. You got to make sure that trigger is pulled down. Otherwise, while you're screwing on the diffuser, you could end up scoring the end of your needle and it could leak. So, make sure your trigger is pulled down. Screw the diffuser on.
