How to PAINT a Wood Sign Quick & Easy

What happens here

The first crucial step is to seal the entire carved wooden sign. Use a clear matte lacquer spray to apply three coats over the entire surface of the sign. This sealing process prevents the wood from absorbing subsequent paint layers, making it easier to sand off excess paint and achieve crisp lines. Allow each coat to dry thoroughly before applying the next. For later sanding, an orbital sander (like a 3x4 sander) and 80-grit sandpaper will be used.

Goal: Prepare the wooden sign by sealing it to prevent paint absorption
