HOW TO INSTALL A TV OUTLET - DIY TUTORIAL FOR MOUNTED TV

What happens here

Using a screwdriver, unscrew and remove the cover plate from the existing power outlet located below the TV. Then, unscrew the two mounting screws holding the outlet receptacle in place and carefully pull the outlet out of the wall box. Observe the length of the existing wires (hot, neutral, and ground) connected to the outlet. Long wires are easier to work with. If there is an existing data port (like a Cat5 Ethernet cable) nearby, also remove its cover plate and data jack from its old work box.

Goal: Gain access to the wiring inside the wall for the existing outlets.

And then I'm going to sleeve the wire up into the wall over here up top where my TV is. So I'm going to take my box out just like this. So as you can see, this is a new workbox, everybody.
