How to Install A Solar Off Grid Well pump System
What happens here
With the pump, pipe, and cables connected, the system is lowered into the 460-foot deep well. The presenter and Eric manually feed the poly pipe and pump into the well casing, which can be challenging as the pipe tries to float. They use a backhoe bucket rigged with a strap to assist in lowering the heavy pump assembly. Once the pump is at the desired depth (200 feet in this case), the well seal is installed, ensuring a watertight and sanitary connection at the top of the well casing. After installation, a draw-down test is performed by monitoring the water level using the level sensor (accessible via Bluetooth on a smartphone app) and pumping water out. This test determines the well's static level and recovery rate. A frost-free hydrant is temporarily installed to allow water access.
Goal: Deploy the pump system and verify well performance
