How to Install A Solar Off Grid Well pump System
What happens here
Once the panels are mounted, the next crucial step is to run a ground cable along the full length of the solar array and ground each panel's frame. This grounding cable is then connected to a ground rod driven into the wettest possible area (the drip point) at the edge of the solar panels, which is important for lightning protection. Next, the Lorentz PV Disconnect is mounted to the main support post, which will receive power from the solar panels and direct it to the controller. The lightning protection device is also wired into the disconnect box, designed to protect the system by shunting excess voltage to ground at 300 volts. MC4 connectors are used for all solar panel wiring to ensure safe, plug-and-play connections, avoiding exposure to live, bare wires.
Goal: Safely ground solar panels and connect to the disconnect box
