All right, I'm going to show you guys how to install a level two electric vehicle charger. There is a charge point. All right, guys. So, first thing you want to do is you want to establish what type of electrical panel you have. Do you have a flush mounted panel or do you have a surface mounted panel? In this case, we have a flush mounted panel because it's in the drywall. So, we had to cut the drywall. Now, here is my brother Ken. He is a journeyman electrician. I'm an apprentice and he currently right now is drilling the stud because we got to fish our wire in the wall to the electrical panel to the charge point. So right now he is fishing 63 ROMX in the wall and we are running 63 ROMX guys because we are installing a Nema 1450R charge point. And anytime you're installing a Nema 1450R outlet, you need to have 63 ROMX which is four conductors guys. So, we have two hot wires, one neutral wire, and one ground wire. So, currently right now, my brother Ken is mounting the the Nema 1450R outlet box. So, we used a 1900 box, guys. Actually, a 1900 box 4116 in because we need, you know, believe it or not, this wire is pretty thick. So, and uh right now, guys, I'm stripping the wire, the jacket off the ROMX, and I use a razor knife. Guys, my name is Hendy, guys. Hendy the Sparky. And if you guys like this video, can you please throw a like, comment, subscribe, guys, because it would mean the world to me. Anyways, we are now mounting the charge point. And anytime, guys, it's New Jersey code. You have to install a GFCI breaker whenever installing a 240 volt outlet that is 40 amps continuous. So, we are installing a 50 amp breaker. I'm currently actually right now installing a charging cord. And for these charge point guys, they're very nice. The cord is detachable. So, all you have to do is just snap it in. Right now, guys, currently just checking our work. You know, you always want to take a step back sometimes and just take a look at what you're doing. But everything's looking good so far. So, right now, I'm actually using my screwdriver. I am twisting on the cover plate. And right now, this is the outer cover plate for the charge point. It's just snaps on. Snaps. Snaps right in like a baby. And here is my brother Ken. He is plugging in the charge point to the Nema outlet, guys. And anytime you're installing a Nema 1450R outlet, guys, you want to make sure that wire is tight. It is torqued because there is going to be a continuous load depending on what amperage is your EV charger. So, in this case, we have 40 amps continuous load. All right, guys. But yeah, we just finished. So, I just want to give you guys a recap. So, the customer had a BMW iix, and honestly, it is a nice looking vehicle. Here's our charge point, guys. Came out super clean, super smooth. And look at this whip, guys. I need to get an electric vehicle. I'm trying to get a Tesla. But here guys, 40 amp GFCI breaker. We had a Cutler hammer eaten panel. Um, we threw a charge point label in. They come with the every charge point. So, throw the labels on. Here is our Nema outlet charge point. EV chargers are one of my favorite electrical jobs. Comment down below what's your favorite electrician job. And guys, customer satisfied. See you on the next one.
