Depressurize and Winterize for Storage

What happens here

After the final cleaning cycle, turn off the sprayer. The last step before rolling up your hose and storing the unit is to discharge all pressure from the system. Do this by squeezing the spray gun's trigger while ensuring the pump is in the 'off' position. Discharging the pressure is good for the pump and makes it much easier to roll up the hose. It's recommended to store oil-based sprayers with mineral spirits inside, especially in cold climates where temperatures drop below freezing, as mineral spirits will not freeze and acts as an anti-corrosive. This prevents pump damage. Avoid intermixing oil-based and water-based products in the same sprayer, as this can clog filters and gum up hoses.
