So, I'll start off this conversation by just telling you the types of tips that we actually use. And we the only tips that we actually use are Graco Rackex tips. And we use the Rackex fine finish tips and the RAX tips. And the fine finish ones are the green tips and the regular RAX tips are the blue tips. And the reason why that we use only use the Graco tips is those RAX tips last a lot longer and actually atomize the paint a lot better for us. We've used a lot of other tips on the market. These ones last a lot longer and they're more cost effective because uh once a tip starts to wear out and get blown out, it actually wastes a lot of paint. So, for us, we definitely like the Rackex tips, the fine finish ones for spraying anything fine finish and the regular ones for spraying our products. And if you want to see those tips, there should be right up here. You'll see them pop up right there, the tips that we're actually using. Now, I'd start to discuss the sizes that we actually use. So, I try to keep the the sizing fairly simple because I don't want a a whole lot of different tips in my vehic in in my vans to actually select from. I try to just keep it basic and simple. And I carry the two types um the fine finish ones and the regular ones, the Graco Rackex and the fine finish ones. And and I'll talk about the exterior of a house first. And when we're spraying the exterior of our house, we're typically only using two tip sizes. And that's a Graco green rack fine finish tip. And we're using a 310 tip for um all the fine finish stuff. And that would be the doors and all the gutters. And then on the house itself, when it comes to the structure, we're painting the siding with a Graco Rack X tip. And it's a 515 tip. And those are the two tips that we keep in stock for our vehicles for doing exteriors. When it comes to working on the interior of a house, there's a a little more of a selection that we use, but we're using um for all of our trim. If the trim is small trim, if it's anything like 3 in or smaller, we're typically using a 310 fine finish tip. If we have like 4in trim, 6-in trim, we're typically using a fine finish 510 tip. So, we keep those two tips in stock. We keep a 310 and a 510 in stock on our vehicles for doing interiors. It's very rare on um that we'd ever use a 210, but we do keep 210s in our vehicles. And sometimes on the exterior, if we're doing small spindles, like 2in spindles on deck railing, we'll use a 210 tip. But on the interiors, we're using 310, 510. And when we're spraying the walls, we're typically using, if we're spraying the interior of a house, we're going to be using a bigger tip than we do on the exterior. Exteriors, we use 515s, but on the interiors, we use larger tips because we want more more volume of paint. We want to be able to spray faster. So, I'll talk about the interior wall tips right now. So, you kind of have a couple scenarios when it comes to the interiors. When we're doing new construction, we're trying to just paint and paint fast. And I've got a lot of experience spraying. And I typically use a 1221 tip to spray the whole inside of an interior of a new construction home that's a brand new home that's got bare drywall on it. Use a 1221s to spray the walls, ceilings, and even the closets. If we're spraying uh just a house that's an existing house doing a repaint, like on a rental or something like that, we're typically going to break out a 619 tip to spray the interior of a rental. And we definitely like those bigger tips because um you're not going to get as much flashing on the interiors when you're spraying them if you're using a bigger tip. You can use a lot more tip paint, but you got to um move a lot faster, too. Good job. Oh. Oh, that was hard. I videoed it. Now, some of this the tip sizing when you start to get into those really uh wide tips like the the twelves and the sixes, you've got to have a lot of experience spraying before you actually jump to one of those. It's really best if you don't have a lot of experience. If you're a brand new painter or you're just a do-it-yourselfer on the outside of the house, you should just stick to a 515. If you're on the inside of a house, you should stick to a 517 until you've got a lot more experience and you can handle a wider fan and a more volume of paint. And I'll discuss just a little bit about the tip sizes, the numbers, and what they actually mean to help you select the right one. So, when it comes to the tip sizing, say for instance, you've got a 515. The first number, the five, when you double that, that number, that's the actual fan width that tip will throw out when it's 12 in from its surface. So, from a wall, if you're 12 in away from a wall, a 515 is going to throw out a 10-in fan width spray pattern. So if you're using a 1221, you're actually going to have a 2T a 24 in fan width pattern when you're actually 12 in away from the surface. The second two numbers, so you got five and then the 15, that's the orifice size. So a 310, the orifice size is so big, it's really small. A uh a 515, the 15 is even bigger. A 1221, you got a 24 in fan because 12 is doubled. Then the 21 is the orifice size. So 21 is a lot larger than a 10, a 310. The 310 is going to throw out a 6-in fan with an orifice size of 10. So what is the difference between the the green tips and the blue tips? The green tip is an actual uh fine finish tip and it atomizes the paint a lot better and it throws it out uh throws out a finer finish. a blue tip. If you used say like a 413 or something and tried to spray trim, it's going to give you more of an orange peely or a stippled look to it than a really fine finish like a fine finish tip would. So, you definitely want to when you're trying to spray like lacquers on cabinets or spray interior trim or interior doors or any type of furniture, definitely use your green fine finish tips and not the blue tips. I do occasionally get asked if um I'm using or if I'm not using a Graco gun, could I use Graco tips on a non-graco gun like a a Titan gun? And the the gun itself, the threads on typically all your guns are the same exact thread pattern. So all you need to use the a Graco tip is a Graco guard and that's what the actual tip goes into. So you just have a the Graco tip, a Graco guard, and that'll typically screw on to any gun that you have. So, if you have a Titan gun, you can run Graco tips on a Titan gun. If you got a Gra uh a Graco gun, you can run Titan tips on a Graco gun. And same with the Sherwin Williams tips. Sher Williams sells their own line of tips, too. And as long as you have the proper guard, then that will actually screw onto the gun. The thread patterns on all the guns are just the same. So, hopefully that answers the question about whether you can use or cross interuse uh different manufacturers of tips with different guns. So, there you have it. Typically on our exteriors, we're using 515s. We're using 310s. On the interiors, we're typically using 1221s for new construction. Uh we're spraying always spraying the trim with 310, 510, and occasionally we'll use 619s on interior repaint. So, we don't have a large tip selection size in our van. So, we don't have to dig through a bunch of different sizes. It's we keep it very simple. We don't want all of them. Those are the tip sizes that work for best for us.
