How NOT to install Hardwood Floors- Before during & After including all our screw ups

What happens here

After the entire room is floored, conduct a final inspection to check for any remaining gaps, loose planks, or areas needing touch-ups. The narrator highlights that despite careful installation, issues like gapping in the center of the floor can still occur due to factors like inconsistent plank manufacturing or the effects of radiant heat on the 'floating' floor system. Lessons learned include the necessity of cutting planks from the bottom side with a jigsaw to prevent finish damage, the importance of drawing from multiple boxes for a random and varied pattern, and the need for extremely tight fits to prevent subsequent separation. The final result is a beautiful and functional engineered vinyl plank floor, replacing the old carpeting and improving the aesthetic and durability of the space.

Goal: Complete the flooring installation and reflect on challenges and successful techniques.
