(16,044 characters)did you have a bad cut I used it though I ended up using it where we talked about the difference between an engineered vinyl plank flooring system move the old carpet an actual clickable floating floor system thinking you get the most delicate thumbs fingers yes I'm smelling per year and all like this floor is driving me nuts right where the dog and the cat are sniffing each other's box I literally just went through and slipped the whole worid [Music] we're learning tools that to you boy there's a lot of little things that can screw a guy up you cut from the topside and that didn't work out so hot flooring that was gonna go in completely clean it or mostly the dog sniffing the cat okay all right let's Frankie let's tell the guys what's happened and it's been about a month since we installed these floors six weeks and we've noticed that the floors are starting to separate even in the middle on the end you can see where we've got it pulled apart and you just discovered why so your thriftiness to say five boxes on this job twenty years from now I'll tell you all about how well this silicone works this is the one Frankie's using right here Frankie's home cleaning services got one 888 we got wood putting it where we talked about the difference between an engineered vinyl plank flooring system here's the engineered vinyl plank flooring that was gonna go in an actual clickable floating floor systems now this board here yeah is wider than the other one engineered vinyl plank system is going to be more moisture resistant and tolerant than actual wood right Frankie correct here's one of the drawbacks to that it's not gonna feel like wood on your feet it's also gonna give you a difference in thickness in this so if the tolerance floor height doesn't issue door jams or an issue or anything like that you may want to end up going with something like this is your cheaper one it's got a lot of flop and give to it engineered vinyl plank systems a little bit more sturdy awful has this weird gloss you've got high moisture areas real wood is probably not going to be the solution for you that's where something like this would be a little better of real wood floors over there and you ended up pulling them up last year by the dishwasher's this isn't going to expand and contract let's show these guys how to install real wood system in a room like this let's do this thing all right that's one remove the old carpet [Music] look at the dirt that just gathers underneath the carpet [Music] this floor for my dog is peed on alive oh creek looks like it's holding up - you know one of the most important things we should cover with these guys is the prep work of the old floor is probably one of the most critical elements to the long term success of their new project you literally spent hours getting every nook and cranny cleaned up just to make sure that when you put the underlayment down you had a smoother surface as possible even though that it will compensate and help float over some bumps and ridges so the underlayment takes out the waves a little bit what's the florists thicker where the other generic vinyl plank floor is gonna have a lot less tolerance the flooring cannot be outside on a day like this all flooring even engineered vinyl plank flooring which is synthetic it's been inside the room or the space where it's going to be laid at least two days before you plan on installing it not just to temperature but humidity levels as well and my dog had a heyday in her puppy years peeing all over this carpeting that's why we're ripping it out there's no sense in covering it up now where we could just spray it out a little bit of bleach and you know if you would smelling the floor not me one of the problems we have is tons of little cuts Frankie what's your solution to that I mean templates okay so we made a template because this is a floating hardwood floor yeah and that's how we use it we're learning tools that to use so you've been you use this one what was the problem with that one Frankie so you're actually using the Black and Decker jigsaw yeah this is the one Frankie's using right here I've been using the table saw and know Microsoft okay hook them to the tools I guess is all I may be able to use do you transfer your mark onto the wood we wiped it off a little bit but look at jigsaw blade just wrecked the finish on the top of that wood first thing we learned is mark mark the bottom side well I should have anyways well yeah but that's alright not everybody knows that Frankie I mean right you said that on a lot of projects always cut from the bottom side that piece of wood won't go to waste you'll cut it you'll see if it fits and then if it fits then we transfer the marks to a fresh piece of wood and do it on the bottom side it's not a bad thing you screwed up wow these guys may not make that same mistake all right so Frankie we've got a he's making his scribe cuts and we've got to leave three-eighths of space so let's see how close he's able to get with this thing that little tiny gap were you talking [Music] one of the things I got it's not four floors window door and siding polyurethane sealant the reason I got this it's permanently flexible it will never kind of solidify so to speak but more importantly it expands and contracts with material permanently so as this floor is floating and breathing this stuff will move with it in theory we will find out I'll let you know in 20 years how holds up make sure you subscribe and come back because 20 years you know I'll tell you all about how well this silicone works more year or a year so this is where we need to see sealant is around like the logs like that and that's the stonework this board here yeah is wider than the other boards both ends both sides I mean it's it's a fact factory thing and then try to put this on it won't doesn't fit you want to push it off huh so now I gotta unlock trying to see but you can see it you can feel it better all the planking is always going to be identical and we've already got the scribe cut down on that piece of wood and then found out that it was skinnier than all the others as we look at this piece of wood we got a nice tight joint space and as soon as we come to this piece of flooring you can see where it's skinnier the width is skinnier and now we've got exposed joints so we can't have that so we'll fix it by putting a different piece of [Music] get what about them being both Frankie you know this one house I mean this one fits in a nice you get them in there is something that has to watch for because I think I don't lock it right you're gonna have a gap when you get up here you're gonna see it tell me that story but I'm gonna Cindy we will probably be corny to the way through and when we got done we look back and there was a there was one that wasn't locked so we had to tear off the floor and could get to that spot you know you shot me like way over there you realize it was a bad spot the only way to fix it you can't kick it Jim right rich I crying and crying it off the wall and everything it just didn't work didn't see it soon enough well you thought they went out with a clip I thought you know how much they clip like these do normally the other on the other flooring it does this dis clips on to the flooring is there any reason in this door cam you couldn't just go up tight to the door keep your 3/8 and then just set that transition piece over the top of that like that put on top yeah we could do that then that would hide it so then that's how your transition piece could rust yeah so we could take the flooring up as close to the door as we could and just put this opportunity door yeah put it up like that back-to-back its silicone this to that yeah you can yes and easy mm-hmm one of the things that I want to show these guys is like right here Frankie's got really nice seams I mean for scribing around rocks it just doesn't get better but look it even as tight and nice as he is there's still a touch of blue showing and so you can't use wood to miter around that just I mean come on baby maybe some crepes don't think they can but I don't think you could follow that with wood so I got silicone [Music] hey can you show us a problem on the floor Frankie that we've got we've already got this much floor laid and this is one of the issues Frankie's noticing with this flooring right yeah yeah the narrow one in there and I didn't realize it there's a gap going use out of one box and lay and then another box and lay they telling you to pull from different boxes and I would recommend if if ya got it's a piece that doesn't want to work right away don't use it at all that's what I was doing let's just not ever use them right that means that yeah but if you have a bad piece you better out set it aside and return them you should tell them they're defects because otherwise unfortunately some other dudes gonna get an open box love all of you fix of all defects well I gotta take it all off and just find a wider one so you got to go one two three four five six that's what happens when you get tired in the kids dark right well yeah when you lay out the other foot with the other type of flooring yeah whatever pattern you have you're stuck with that pattern don't give you different legs so I there is no soot pattern in this floor let's go with full length three-quarter half and then the small pieces full length three-quarter half and then the small pieces yeah so that's four piece sizes well Wow for all yep okay from Coxon gives you the ability for a true random pattern so like right here you can actually see where Frankie's this is the end he uses with the clickable surface and then the other end this whatever for starters and that's because you try not to waste in it right away so you don't have to do that let me show you what Frankie's saved with his thrifty ways one two three four five six seven boxes thriftiness to save five boxes on this job probably and you think wow did you have a bad cut I used it though I ended up using it what he's saying is you have no bad cut you can see where he was scribing around all of these surfaces he ended up reusing everything looks good so we got an in-floor radiant heat we can't tip technically nail anything down on this floor if you slide it my way Frankie boom see how that hits you guys that has to be cut back so the transition piece can be put in place it's a transition piece on this side and this is a teepee so that this tee piece goes between two floors so that's the piece that goes there and this piece right here goes up to the door alright check out the floor [Music] there she is all wrapped up no she looks that good from up here to be honest with you the floor itself is busy enough you guys that the minor imperfections that Frankie's Drive that's driving Frankie nuts I would never pick up on my own he's definitely a craftsman he likes the way he does things and I'm not going to change that the floor projects all wrapped up we got it done we still have some detail work to do but I hope this videos helped you out you guys let me know in the comments down below I really wanted Frankie to point out any of the mistakes problems errors that he made because hopefully things like that help you guys out what should be putting in here this room is next my wife hates this flooring she's sick of it so what my wife said she's like what were we thinking I'm like what are you talking about you leave as a husband you got to listen right she's like we put this flooring in and the flooring runs this way and the flooring matches the walls which run this way which match the cabinet's which run this way she's like this floor is driving me nuts I'm like honey this is the first time you've ever noticed it in like 12 15 years this floor is 15 years old and it's never bothered you before but now that she's seen it it's gonna bother her and now that she's pointed it out to me it's gonna bother me too so what do we put for this floor and here you guys tell me down below and as always god bless you guys go get them and check out these videos whoa catch you later I'm still doing the Ric Flair thing I did it on one other video I guess I'm doing it today whoa look Gracie no just the dog god bless you guys go get them these animals drive me nuts right well we smell the for skunk weekend over the heat in the floor yeah okay so we got radiant in-floor heat and it's not recommended that this gets installed over it but of course we're polish so we did it anyway the end so that around this so we caught Frankie caulked scribed so we described the cut around the rocks and then caught that and what's happening is the floor separating in the middle because the call that's supposed to be a floating floor system right and instead of the floor being able to literally float and shift and move together as one unified piece that yeah the caulking is holding the edges and then the centers are just it's like pulling apart in the center is that right Wow there was yeah okay that makes sense all right let's go down and we'll show you guys exactly what's going on with this thing cuz you know what live and learn we're not perfect never cleaned it was screw up all the time share it with you hopefully you guys don't make the same mistakes and if you're watching this because you want professional installation with no mistakes well sorry to disappoint you alright so here we go here goes my original caulking so that's it a bit that was my gapping that I left it behind well see how much up for Harley okay so what's Frankie saying is he had this scribed right to their right to the caulking and I remember that you were tight Frankie I mean it was you slid it in look how much this floor has shrank and moved that's a hell yeah I just cut this now prior of putting it all this gapping was fighting in all the joints so it looked like all the floors all of it was separating yeah well once I cut this it just you could hear everything go click quickly quickly quickly this was law everything was locking back up Wow so coffee I wouldn't recommend Wow maybe a more flexible talking if you have to use a coffee but we got to use something to hide here because of the dirt that's why we put the caulking in yeah and I'm gonna recaulk it once we get I'm gonna put in new pieces here now that were strong I'm gonna put it in and leave my 3/8 inch gap and we call kit and see because I think it would be okay for floating but that's all we know and heat oh yeah yeah yeah so we do have radiant heat they don't recommend it here's what we're gonna do Frankie because we don't know if that's right or wrong I mean we think that the floor is done moving at this point well it's gonna keep moving but it's not gonna move this much I wouldn't think so what I'll do what I'll do I can't make another YouTube video updating this but if you guys follow me at all on Instagram it's the same as my YouTube channel name I'll keep periodic updates going on on this floor and how things are going over there so that way if you need the latest and greatest it's easy for me to give you an update on there I can't really do it on YouTube so so like right all through here we were just noticing teeny tiny like way out in the middle of the field just pull it apart all along well here there is because I haven't put this back together yet yeah so this is but I want to show these guys you see this gap right here see this gap this is what was going on throughout the entire floor and so that's that floor it kind of just came together all by itself after you well the pry bar it was Brian but you could hear everything locking okay yeah so we still got to put the floor back together there butoh problemos yeah but I mean there was a lot of gap in use like this area that's my Spanglish mucho problema I actually think that's real we're real real Spanish sometimes I get it right all right thanks Frankie I hope this helps you guys out now back to your regularly scheduled program
