Versatile Slam Latch Tailgate System

What happens here

The trailer features a versatile 'slam latch' tailgate system, an innovation by Southland Trailers. This three-way gate can function as a traditional 'barn door' style gate, opening fully to the sides, or as a 'spreader gate' by dropping down the lower section for controlled material spreading. It can also be completely removed by pulling pins from the top, converting the trailer into a flat deck capable of hauling dimensional lumber or other long items up to 16 feet. All pivot points on the tailgate system are equipped with grease zerks for easy maintenance, prolonging the life of moving parts.
