Helping @HuserHelpers With A Faucet Repair From Across The Country!
What happens here
After removing the cam, ball, and cup, use a small pick tool to extract the old springs and seats from their respective holes inside the faucet body. Observe if there's any oxidation or wear on these parts. Replace the old springs and seats with the new ones from the Delta repair kit. Ensure they are seated correctly by pushing them down firmly with the pick tool. Next, compare the old cam and packing to the new ones from the kit. The new cam and packing may have a slightly different design (e.g., rectangular vs. 'iron' shaped). Then, transfer the appropriate O-ring (specifically, the purple 'adjusting ring A' if it's not included in the new kit) from the old cam to the new cam and packing assembly. This O-ring helps ensure a tight seal and proper function.
Goal: Install new O-rings, springs, seats, and cam/packing from the repair kit.
