from dig to backfill. #retainingwall #hardscape #landscaping
What happens here
Begin by thoroughly surveying and marking the intended path and height of the retaining wall on the ground. Using a mini excavator, dig a trench that is sufficiently wide and deep to accommodate the wall stones, a substantial gravel base, and adequate space for drainage and backfill behind the wall. The excavation depth should account for at least one buried course of stones and the required depth for a stable gravel footing, ideally extending below the frost line in regions with cold climates.
Goal: Prepare the site and excavate a stable trench for the retaining wall foundation.
