Forestry Mulcher Day2: Clearing hunting land and Shooting lanes

[Music] my all right good morning you guys good morning good morning sam sam's going to meet me back out into the woods tell them why why we're we're going mulching but we're going to go into some harder conditions i'm a little worried because the frost is starting to come out of the ground it's warming up and it's getting wet and soupy and i honestly have been we're going to try to go in places that i've never been in my entire life really don't let me down sam is talking to his supply of grease right now i had to make this i'm talking about i'm talking about this cute this cute redhead over here i had to make a special stop to get the milwaukee grease gun no because a regular grease gun isn't good enough no no you had to go back to your house three times because that was just how [Laughter] yesterday even the road getting out to the woods has started to over grow with brush so on my way out to cut the shooting lanes i decide to widen out the road that's my view i'll show you from the inside doesn't take long for this to kick up this is what you see from in here actually we got a windshield wiper let's see how she works schmeer schmeer schmeer schmeer schmeer yeah i don't like doing that i don't like doing that good not stuck no i'm just muddied up i can't see [Music] so if you guys have been following along on the videos and the plow and the deep snow off-road this is where we were and you can see we've given these guys access to drop all of these trees and now these will season for the year and then they'll be good to go firewood for next year this is why we did it but we got more to go so while i'm clearing the path out to the woods sam runs into town and gets some spare diesel fuel [Music] sam's only been out to our back 80 acres once before [Music] i'm not sure which way oh these look like skits to your tracks oh there he is all right all right all if you take a peek these are all sharp i don't know what the heck those are raspberries maybe i don't know but if you take a peek way over there you'll see a little structure this used to be wide open nothing was growing in here that's one of our deer stands and this whole thing is one of our shooting lanes but not anymore in fact the deer don't like to come through here because of all these prickles and we don't like to come back through here because of all the brush so let's open that back up not really sure if i want to leave these trees because that man they grow up make a nice canopy and we can burn them later we can cut them and burn them if we let them go oh widowmaker look at that one you guys a widowmaker and i have a forestry mulcher it sounds like something's got to be done about that before i can knock that widowmaker down i want to clear some of the undergrowth from around the base of it that way it gives me a better chance to angle as i'm coming in on it and i don't want to just mulch the whole thing up because i don't want to just waste the wood yeah it's straight up and we that's where our shooting lane used to be so we'll we'll get that cleared out and then i'm going to cut i'm going to so as long as you guys want all these pine trees little ones gone i'm going to take them down yeah take that in chop that end up first to clear the road up no yeah you said you'd get that yeah i'll get that i'll get that cleared up and if you see any more widowmakers let me know i can pop them down with this thing that was pretty slick with this a little safer than trying to do it by hand so i'm gonna go right through here and clear it all up that's the game plan then you can see where we used to have a field open here yeah well it used to be a field just that one big pine tree everything else just came up over the last 15-20 years around it actually i got a deer out of there many years back might be nice too if we could go that way [Music] oh is it yeah well let me walk down there and take a look okay do i put dirt in there oh it's been a while remember yeah i was that's right in true dirt monkey fashion i forgot one of my camera tripods so chris and i make one real quick i don't know if you guys will be able to see for sure but right over there you see where that tree just dropped you got 80 year old uncle tom out here dropping trees oh i love that dude and he just about chipped the camera i know i say this about every time of the shooting lane cleared uncle tom and cousin chris we're dropping some trees back here so we're gonna bring the asv and pull some of these suckers out i love it we got 80 year old uncle tom out here middle of nowhere in the woods dropping trees my kind of guy all right well we're done over here yeah check this out this is what my wife sent me and i think it's julie oh man yep holy crap my lady yeah my lady had just texted me too saying our our street's flooding that's coming this way it is coming north yep oh let's get let's get done yeah let's go let's kick her in overdrive boys well they're they're good to go over there so they got their chain over there we'll beat them over there we will pull some trees on out of here [Music] oh my god me oh he forgot that my camera was sitting right there on that bar uh-oh oh it's still there thank god [Music] morning [Music] after i get the trees lined up to make it easier to split them we go to a different area where we've got a whole different kind of brush to tackle let's find out what the game plan is we're in the new area where are we doing uncle tom you want to clear all this or what do you want to do you got ribbons about the middle where you're going to go there's another one from this side that big pine tree over here if you step over here you see it down you see a ribbon on that tree right there okay what do you want me to do just go ahead and make shots in there the damn deer laying on me oh they lay down in there and then back by that birch back there he's going to go that way okay but you don't care about any of this stuff because i don't forget about this and that ridge there they got that place to hide too you know okay so you don't care about the level stay in the level okay yeah you want me to just clean don't like blood orange and i will argue that anybody that likes blood orange is a sociopath i'm just kidding i'm just kidding don't don't freak out i don't i think off camera he's not [Music] home sweet home we made it what an adventure wow conditions went from good to fun how'd it go down in the cabin good yeah i got your uh mini loader pulled up when i got the tarp oh thank you yesterday watch that i loved it today was a good day i'm saying yesterday i think i was having more fun in it oh dude i had a really bad day yesterday i just it was a bad start and it was a bad everything yeah yeah that was a good day we got a lot done man and she just hummed i could finally get her dialed in today yeah it took a while you know i mean i'll tell ya i figured it was gonna take three days to kind of get familiar with it now i figured out the different hum like the different sounds it makes like when she's really ready to torque into something and when i gotta back off a little bit you know either maybe it's just me but i think every piece of equipment has this weird little learning curve and personality absolutely oh absolutely well two we were talking and what we were getting into yesterday and the attachment on this machine maybe not quite getting up to the rpms we needed it to really get up to to deal with that thick nasty brush that we were yesterday i thought yesterday was going to be easier to than today i did too and it was absolutely we did now if we had the 125 that would have been like mowing the lawn through there yes or the 120 yeah which is almost as good as the 125 which is the new machine that doesn't actually exist i'm just standing out in the rain i'm freaking screaming and that's our video for today but tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow we're grinding the cabin we're going across the lake and we're gonna go grind the cabin it should be a good day
