Feedin' Some Hungry Cows and running the sawmill...winter on the farm!

What happens here

Once a square cant (in this case, an 8x8 inch white oak cant) is achieved, it can be further milled into smaller, usable dimensional lumber. Position the cant on the sawmill bed. The presenter demonstrates cutting the 8x8 cant into two 4x4 pieces. This is done by making a 4-inch deep cut down the middle of one side, then rotating the cant 90 degrees and making another 4-inch cut to separate the pieces. The remaining sections of the cant are now four 4x4 pieces of lumber.

Goal: Transform the square cant into smaller, dimensioned lumber (e.g., 4x4s).
