FAST 3 hour dock rebuild

What happens here

To ensure stability and prevent the dock boards from sliding off the ramp into the water, the front-most board on the ramp section is secured in place. This is done by drilling pilot holes into the composite board and then driving screws into the dock frame. This 'toe kick' board acts as an anchor, holding all the other loose-laid boards in position while still allowing for easy removal of the remaining boards during seasonal storage.

Goal: Anchor the leading edge of the dock ramp for stability.

Tools and materials

  • Cordless Drill DeWalt — Drilling pilot holes and driving screws
  • Deck Screws — Securing the board to the frame

What they say

Hide

[Applause] [Music] so at first there was no way I was gonna lay this dock out in individual boards like this but after doing it I don't see anything wrong with it except for the fact that there are a few that needs some specialty cots what are we gonna use Frankie to make putting the dock in and out as easy as possible we're gonna make all of the boards that have specialty cuts permanently installed so that means after we cut the boards we're going to screw those in place so that every other board is basically interchangeable after that point
