DIY Concrete Countertops For DUMMIES

What happens here

After the concrete has cured for three days, carefully begin the demolding process. Using a cordless drill (DeWalt), remove all the screws that hold the side molds in place. Once the screws are out, gently tap the side pieces with a small mallet to loosen them from the concrete. Remove the side molds one by one. Remember that concrete takes up to 20 days to fully cure and harden, so it is still relatively delicate at three days. Be very gentle and careful to avoid chipping or damaging the edges and corners. Once the sides are removed, flip the entire concrete slab over. Since the bottom of the mold becomes the top of the finished slab, this step exposes the smooth, finished surface that was in contact with the melamine.

Goal: Carefully remove the mold to reveal the cured concrete slab

condition the slab to be ready for use all right so after three days are done take the screws off keep in mind be very gentle around this concrete right now it takes 20 days to fully cure so use a small mallet very lightly very carefully try to pry off or whack off some of the side molds again very very delicate if you hit a corner it will chip on you now since the bottom of the slab in the mold is actually the top of our slab we are gonna flip the slab over very gently very carefully and spend the rest of our efforts trying to make sure that the finished product the top is as pretty as possible oh yes at this point you probably notice
