DIY BUILT-IN READING NOOK | NURSERY MAKEOVER

What happens here

Install pine face frames and trim to cover the exposed MDF edges and give the built-in a finished look. Use select pine for durability, as it is less prone to denting and chipping than MDF. Apply wood glue and 1-1/4 inch brad nails to attach the face frames. Brad nails are 18-gauge, making them thin enough to be easily concealed. Start with the longest pieces first, then fill in the smaller sections. Once all face frames are installed, fill all nail holes and joints with wood filler and sand smooth with 120-grit sandpaper.

Goal: Apply decorative and protective face frames and trim
