DIY BUILT-IN READING NOOK | NURSERY MAKEOVER

What happens here

To create a recessed toe kick for the base cabinets, assemble frames using 2x4 lumber. These frames will sit 3 inches under the cabinet and be secured into the wall studs and floorboards. This design simplifies the build process and provides a functional toe kick to prevent stubbing toes. Before installation, remove any existing baseboards that interfere with the built-in unit. The creator opted to install the unit directly on top of the carpet rather than cutting it out, allowing future owners more flexibility.

Goal: Create a functional and stable toe kick for the base cabinets
