Building My Dream Bedroom Media Center

What happens here

Shiplap boards are installed onto the drywall. The builder initially made a mistake by starting from an inner edge, which would have resulted in small, awkward pieces at the end. To correct this, he removes the first shiplap pieces and re-starts the installation from the outermost edge of the new structure, working inward. This ensures that any smaller, cut pieces will be less noticeable towards the center. The shiplap is secured using a brad nailer and construction adhesive. Care is taken to cut and fit boards around the TV and fireplace openings, maintaining a consistent gap between boards for a clean, modern look.

Goal: Apply shiplap boards to the drywall, starting from the outside edge and working inward, cutting to fit around the TV recess and fireplace opening.
