good morning everyone so it's gonna just be me by my lonesome here for a while I guess uh Tim was taking Blaine to look at the next job that we're gonna be starting next week and uh that can take a while that can take a while so I'm gonna give him about 45-ish minutes and then I'm going to start calling Blaine like crazy saying I need his help um so until then I'm gonna get the cap set and I'm going to keep on basing that way a little bit and we'll get this wall wrapped up today that's we've been uh been really having to battle these freaking blocks so what's going on is there's a variation in all of the heights but then we found out too that this chunk right here is higher than the rest of the black so you get some real freaking teetery not so great kind of thing going on and I've been I've been fighting that let me tell you what and then yeah with my with my calves you guys know they alternate right so we got 11 A's and freaking 30-something fees so I'm gonna have to make a whole bunch of bees in an A's which is I mean it's not terribly hard but it's time consuming [Music] foreign [Music] all right well it is uh it's almost nine o'clock here so Let's uh let's save Blaine because I I need to saw that he has hello hey we're almost there oh I think all right cool cool so I need that stuff about two minutes all right see you when you get here all right all right so save Blaine is kind of code for Timmy's extremely thorough and when he has an opportunity to lend Knowledge from one of the guys he absolutely has no problem doing so and that means a lot of times when it comes to bidding and estimating he not will just call me but he'll call Blaine and lean on Blaine's master's degree in mathematics or he'll call on Alex and Lena on his experience to get a second and a third opinion before he puts pricing together for a customer because one of the last things we ever want to do is change our price after we've already turned a bit in it's kind of one of those unspoken rules that we do is once we turn our price in that's it if we screw up on our bid we eat it but if the customer changes the bid well that's a different story altogether then [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] if it taint bro don't fix it one of the things you guys may notice that it does not make a difference what size retaining wall we build the process is always the same it doesn't matter if it's one of these little tiny two foot baby retaining walls or a big 22 foot retaining wall holding up a house or a structure the principles are always the same the base material is always the same the depth of the base material is always the same a few nuances change as we're building taller walls like how we set the batter on those and adjust for extra geogrid lengths but everything else stays the same that way we know when we walk away from a job that the customer is getting the absolute best thing that we have to offer with no compromise and no corners cut ever that is a big pet peeve of ours never ever ever cut a corner in any way shape or form Tim and I set that up as one of the founding principles of our company years ago and that's a principle that still holds true today [Music] this big boy right there somewhere safe oh stop riveting at me I'm trying to save your life there you go [Music] thing you choose somewhere you're not gonna die all wrapped up so we did a little edging thing and we put the Rock and edging in around the corner of the porch there and got all this regraded and re-graded and well in this three-part series guys we've talked about a lot of things some good some bad one of the things that I never hide is I don't technically make these videos for customers I don't make them to land more jobs in fact some of the videos I don't want customers to see because I just talk to you guys like it would talk to another contractor and there's some information out there that just if you see it on the on the surface it may not make us look good but when you have a deeper knowledge and understanding of what we're doing it all kind of comes together so in this three-part Series in the first part of it we talked about not accepting our customers requests and refusing to do the work that our customer wants us to do and the second part we talked about taking people off from the job site whether they want to be taken off or not we also talked about lost time on a job and the actual real cost of that so we've covered a lot of ground in this three-part series and I kind of want to hear from you guys next what is the kind of information you like do you want us do you want me to keep going and do what I've done or is there anything in particular you guys like to see now we do have some really cool stuff coming down the pipeline if you're curious next up we're going to have some trailer videos from the natda and then we've got a bunch more construction projects coming at you so I hope you have enjoyed this series but that's it for today God bless you guys go get them we'll catch you later have a good one you guys
